I'm in one of my favorite places at the moment - Tonga! I'll be holding some meetings, taking site measurements for a new radio studio (to replace the one that nearly blew away in February 2010's cyclone), and teaching a weekend training camp for our radio hosts and Bible study leaders. God is doing wonderful things in the Islands through our little radio stations. Lina is great example . . .
Pacific Partners now uses Network For Good to manage our on-line donations. Network for Good works with 45,000 non-profits like Pacific Partners, to provide maximum security for donors and to manage legal compliance across all US States.
Here's one of my favorites . . . "A young local man of bad reputation told his story on our radio. His name (in English) was 'Bad Day.' He'd been in hospital with a bad heart and heard the Gospel on the radio. He cried to God all day, giving his life to Jesus. Next day, the doctor said they couldn't find anything wrong with his heart, so he was discharged. He went to his mother, told her about Jesus and said he wanted to change his name. "From now on my name is (in English) 'Day of Prayer!'"
Lina is an amazing young woman and passionate to serve her beloved Jesus!
I met Lina last year. She often calls the radio station to encourage and pray for our listeners. And that's very hard for Lina to do. She is almost paralysed and in unimaginable pain.
Lina was born with a rare disease that is turning her muscle into bone. Her parents were told she would not live to her 6th birthday. This incurable condition is called fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). The

terrible disease slowly leaves it's victims frozen into one position and will eventually crush Lina's internal organs and cause her death. Only about 200 people in the world have FOB.
But Lina is amazing! She hosts weekly Bible study and prayer meetings in her home and often phones the radio station to pray and encourage our listeners.
Lina can hardly move her mouth to speak and she sits like a statue in her chair, using her thumb to dial her cell phone to call the radio station - all to encourage others with a Scripture or a prayer. What an example! How humbling to was to visit and hear her story, and to see her passion to serve her beloved Jesus - Who is very much the strength of her life!
I plan to visit Lina again this week in Tonga.
A training camp for our radio hosts
and Bible study group leaders in Tonga
As more and more people respond to the Gospel through our radio station, and begin following Jesus, our local workers are getting very busy running home study groups in our listener's home. And our leaders are also helping more and more people with deep sin issues and problems in their lives. So I'll be teaching sessions Friday and Saturday on how to guide others in the Bible to find God's answers and strength to endure and deal with their problems. Then on Sunday we'll have a public worship service for our radio listeners.
Please [ Donate ] to help with the US/AU$1200 (NZ$1600) camp expenses.
(If you live in Tonga and want to come to the worship service, please tune in to Letio Faka-Kalisiatane 93FM or phone the station on 27-328 for details.)
Many people who have so little
are able to do so much for Jesus!
I live in a country that has so much. Even the poor people in my country have a lot compared with many in the Islands. I am greatly challenged every time I go to the Islands.
I have so much, they have so little. But look how much they are doing for Jesus! Does that challenge you like it does me?
Please pray for Lina. Please pray for our workers at the camp. And pray for me too as I teach the sessions. Thank you. May God bless you. Graham A Carter [ email me ] President of UCB Pacific Partners
Please [ Donate via Network For Good ] so we can help even more people like Lina reach their Island people with the Gospel by radio.
