Greetings!

Last Friday was the deadline!
The government of the Marshall Island needed to pay $8.5 million dollars by last Friday to prevent the country running out of diesel fuel in August [ read previous Tok Tok ].

The last news I heard about this was last week - the government was saying they didn't know how they could get the money in time for the Friday deadline.
I've heard nothing since.

The Marshall Islands is now in a state of Economic Emergency [ read the proclamation ] and all diesel is reserved for government use.

When the diesel runs out in August, so will the electricity which is diesel generated.

Last week we began looking for affordable power solutions to keep Christian radio "The Change 104.1FM" operating.  A donor has offered to pay for a wind generator, but because the Marshall Islands sometimes go many days without wind, this is only a partial solution.

Sunlight and the ocean are other possible sources for electricity generation, and we have another meeting this week with technicians to advise us about the suitability and cost of these alternatives.
Please continue to pray
for the Marshall Islands

  • Pray for an end to this crisis - so that fuel and electicity shortages don't cause the people to sink further into poverty.
  • Pray we can keep "The Change 104.1FM" on the air, broadcasting the hope and comfort of Jesus Christ to the Marshallese people during this time of uncertainty and hardship.
  • And please pray that many people will respond to the Gospel - learning to trust Jesus Christ during this crisis.
I will let you know as things develop.
Thank you for praying.
Our prayers will make the difference!
