Dear Partner in the Lord's work

What good is Christian radio if
local people are not trained to use it effectively?

It's easy for those of us living in Western countries to assume all nations (languages) have access to Bible ministry resources, similar to what we enjoy. But they don't - and this is a major obstacle to making effective local radio programs.

Two of our Station Managers have just returned from Singapore where they attended HCJB Global Radio school with Christian broadcasters from Asia. We thank God for this training, and for HCJB's generosity in paying all expenses so our people could attend.
Tina Lemazi
writes about her training in Singapore

"I really do not know where to start cos the course was really good . . .
we learnt about being Kingdom Builders and this has really touch me because it has made me to really see that as we work in these radio stations we are building God's Kingdom and the responsibility that comes with it and it has helped me so that with that in mind I can set my course on the right direction . . .

"We also covered understanding target audience and how to go about doing audience research. Programme policy and serving the community was also looked into. Another area is to make sure that all staff understand the Mission Statement then they will be able to see the vision of the Radio Ministry and its purpose . . .

"One outstanding point I have found is that we in the Solomon Islands are so blessed with the
[religious] freedom we have . . . God's word are so simple but we make it in such a [religious] way that it becomes a stumbling block . . .

I thank God that He has seen the need and the importance of this radio ministry and the part it will play in healing this country. . ."

Willy Florian
writes about his training in Singapore

"We learn that a true leader is a real servant and that Jesus is our example . . .
[One main thing I learned was how to] impact the local staff and volunteer to understand the misson statement that will direct them towards the vision . . . Using the resource we have and the ideas that i have learn to target and win souls into His Kingdom . . .

"Attending this conference is a divine arrangement for me. We in the island takes things very lightly about God . . . [Meeting Christian broadcasters from Asia made me] feel so small and ashame, crying to God again for grace and mercy, for we in the island a so religious . . . I believe that God has sent me here for a preparation for His last harvest. For every opportunity we have we have to do it will our heart and not take God for granted."
A trip like this is life changing
for someone from the Islands
An Asian city like Singapore is very different to an Island town or village. Large, modern, clean, busy! So the whole experience made a big impression on Tina and Willy.

But it's the training they've been talking about most.
The new ideas and renewed enthusiasm they've gained for using radio effectively to reaching their Island nations with the Gospel.

Thank you Lord.
Thank you HCJB Global.

And thank you too, for partnering with us in . . .

"Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you."
(2 Thessalonians 3:1 NLT)

Grace and peace to you
in the wonderful Name of Jesus!
