Greetings! Yes! Summer is finally here and we can be outside being active and having fun with family and friends. If you are looking for burgers to cook on the grill try our Turkey Burger recipe. Skip the bun and save calories. Review the different classes below starting in July and find the right one for you and your family. Enjoy your time in the sun, I know I will.

Summer Fun, Forget the Bun!
Skip the bun and save on calories!
Summer Fun includes barbecues, baseball games, days at the beach. All of which include the foods that go with them. Each time you eat that hamburger, hot dog, or sausage you eat an extra amount of calories when you include the bun.
If you skip the bun you can still enjoy the meat without the excess calories. Or you could eat one side of the bun and lose half the bun calories.
Okay, maybe it is not so realistic if you are at the Red Sox game and you are eating a sausage sandwich. But then you should plan for that and make sure you have done extra exercise that day or reduced the calories in other meals that day to make up for it.
Planning can make the difference in whether you gain or maintain your weight this summer.
So if you have the option, skip the bun or the bread and save on calories. |

Kids' Weight Loss Summer Day Camp Have fun, get fit!
Fitting Fitness In™ has partnered with Emerson Hospital to offer a new Kids' Weight Loss Summer Day Camp. This one-week weight loss summer day camp, for children and adolescents ages 8-14 years, includes strength training, cardio exercises, fun group games, nutrition education on healthy eating habits, music and more.

Turkey Burger
A moist and flavorful burger - try it without the bun!

These delicious burgers can be cooked any way you want - on the grill or in a skillet. They also freeze very well. The recipe can be used for meatballs or meatloaf, too.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds ground turkey
- 2 Tbsp seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp finely diced onion
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- ½ clove garlic, minced
- ½ tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, seasoned bread crumbs, onions, egg white, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Form into 6 patties.
- Cook the patties on the grill or in a skillet over medium heat, turning once to an internal temperature of 180°F.
