Greetings!  
This is a busy time in the fitness industry and alot is happening at Fitting Fitness In.  Read about how adjusting your attitude can help you achieve weight loss success.  Try out the Shrimp & Snow Pea Stir-Fry or get a supportive meal to go from Pasture House Market in our plaza.  We have added an evening Fusion Fitness class for those who could not make the day time class. Fitting Fitness In LogoRemember the book "The Little Engine that Could" that kept saying, "I think I can, I think I can"?   He started out saying I think I can going up the mountain and as he reached the top he changed it to "I Know I can, I Know I can". Well, weight loss isn't much different.  When you have the attitude that you can succeed with your weight loss, you will.  It's when you think you can't, that you won't. 
 
When you get down on yourself it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and bad things happen.  Or at least you perceive them as bad. 
 
Do you look at exercise as a chore?  Why not look at it as a means to an end.  If I walk on the treadmill for ˝ hour every day this week, I will burn off a pound of fat.  It makes it easier to do the work when you change the way you think about it.
 
I have seen people who have adjusted their attitude about what they have to do to lose weight and the weight starts to come off.  As one of my Canadian clients said this week "I'll make it happen".  That is the attitude you want.
 
Look at logging your food as a tool to weight loss.  "When you log it, You lose it".  Look at planning your food for the week as your way of guaranteeing your success.  Also make sure you're getting your 10,000 steps a day.  You are in total control over that.  Make it count.
 
When you have the "Can Do" attitude, you CAN do anything you set your mind to.  
  
Shrimp & Snow Pea Stir-Fry 
 
Shrimp Snow Pea Stir-fryIngredients
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3/4 pound peeled and deveined large shrimp
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup trimmed snow peas
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (1/2 small lemon)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
Preparation
Prep: 5 minutes; Cook: 6 minutes. Have everything chopped, sliced, and minced, but don't begin cooking the stir-fry until the rice is just about ready.
Cook: Heat oil in a large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and garlic, and sauté 5 minutes or until done. Add snow peas and remaining ingredients; sauté 30 seconds.
