Remember the book "The Little Engine that Could" that kept saying, "I think I can, I think I can"? He started out saying I think I can going up the mountain and as he reached the top he changed it to "I Know I can, I Know I can". Well, weight loss isn't much different. When you have the attitude that you can succeed with your weight loss, you will. It's when you think you can't, that you won't.
When you get down on yourself it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and bad things happen. Or at least you perceive them as bad.
Do you look at exercise as a chore? Why not look at it as a means to an end. If I walk on the treadmill for ˝ hour every day this week, I will burn off a pound of fat. It makes it easier to do the work when you change the way you think about it.
I have seen people who have adjusted their attitude about what they have to do to lose weight and the weight starts to come off. As one of my Canadian clients said this week "I'll make it happen". That is the attitude you want.
Look at logging your food as a tool to weight loss. "When you log it, You lose it". Look at planning your food for the week as your way of guaranteeing your success. Also make sure you're getting your 10,000 steps a day. You are in total control over that. Make it count.
When you have the "Can Do" attitude, you CAN do anything you set your mind to.
