Portion Distortion

Plate of FoodI know that a good amount of you have made a New Year's Resolution to lose weight this year.

Immediately you start to exercise and go on a diet.  I am sorry to say that diets will only give you short term results.  The way to weight loss is through the right nutrition, moderate aerobic exercise and strength training.

I want you to think about the portion sizes you are eating.  Americans suffer from "Portion Distortion".  The food portion sizes have gotten out of control.

Just think about it when you super-size your food you are super-sizing your body.  The biggest offender tends to be our portions of meat.  A proper portion of meat should be the size of a deck of cards or some people use the palm of their hand.

Pasta portions tend to be way out of proportion.  A portion of pasta is ½ cup cooked.  When you eat out at most Italian restaurants you're getting 5-6 portions of pasta on your plate.

If you take note of the amount of food you're eating and cut back on the portion sizes you'll start to see a difference in your weight.  Every little bit helps.

I have my clients use a portion control plate to help them learn portion sizes.  Click Here  to see the plate on my online store.

Don't suffer from "Portion Distortion" in this New Year.
