Yes, the holidays are coming.  The average person gains 11lbs between Halloween and New Year's.  Don't let that be you.  Sign up for our Weight Loss Clinic and make sure you don't gain but lose over the holidays.  Participate in our 1st Cook Off and get ideas for healthy foods to serve over the holidays.  Read our Candy Trivia to get an idea of the calories in that Halloween treat before you eat it.

Candy Trivia - How well do you know your favorite sweets?

Halloween is often when the dieting downfall begins.  Denying yourself sweets isn't the answer.  Making smart choices is.  For example:
  • Three Muskateer Bars can satisfy a chocolate/candy craving but at a smaller calorie cost than a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup
  • Hard candies can help curb sugar cravings (and sugar-free ones taste good too) and you can savor them as well.
  • A box of Dots is a better choice (less fat, fewer calories) than a Baby Ruth.
  • A small dark chocolate bar actually has health benefits as long as you don't overindulge.  Studies have shown that the flavonoids in dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
  • When choosing any candy, the "bite size" will satisfy your craving without all the calories of a "full size" candy.

Healthy Eating for Around the Holidays! 
 
Are you a creative cook?  Do you want to try your talent at creating a healthy and delicious meal?  Do you want to learn even more ways to combine foods for supportive eating?  If yes, you need to enter the Fitting Fitness In Cook Off!  Each cook is challenged to create the most delicious dish which incorporates the three basics of supportive eating:  a lean protein, a fibrous carb, and a starchy carb - all while keeping to less than 500 cal/serving.  Salad and beverages will be provided by FFI.  Dessert provided by Annie Cronin, your Gluten Free consultant. 
 
The cook with the winning recipe will receive a $20 gift certificate toward a Fitting Fitness In class or product.  Can you do it?  Want to try?

This eight-week program  is designed for anyone who has 25 pounds or more to lose and wants to succeed with the support of a small group who understands.  Our weight-loss clinics provide the right support and motivation to help you in your weight-loss goals. We only take up to eight people for each weight-loss clinic.  We've found that this number creates the perfect synergy. Our weight-loss clinics work!
