Grow a Garden, Grow a Muscle
Gardening benefits the body, mind, soul and environment. Even if you don't have room for a big garden, the herbs below (and most vegetables) can also be grown in containers so that you can make delicious, healthy recipes all summer long.
Did you know that you could burn up to 272 calories in an hour of general gardening? *
Not only are you burning calories, but you are building muscle. Also transplanting plants from one area to another involves:
- digging - using your upper back muscles,
- lifting - using your lower back and legs,
- carrying - using upper and lower body strength
The results of gardening are not only healthy but tasty.
