October is the month you think of ghosts and goblins, not to mention candy treats.  Read our Candy trivia to find out the best treats to eat.  Find out how not to fall back into bad habits and learn how to burn fat and eat in a way to have your ideal body in our new 60 minute Fitness Orientation.

Candy trivia - how well do you know your favorite sweets?Candy

Halloween is often when the dieting downfall begins.  Denying yourself sweets isn't the answer.  Making smart choices is.  For example:

 

  • Three Muskateer Bars can satisfy a chocolate/candy craving but at a smaller calorie cost than a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. 
  • Hard candies can help curb sugar cravings (and sugar-free ones taste good too) and you can savor them as well.
  • A box of Dots is a better choice (less fat, fewer calories) than a Baby Ruth.
  • A small dark chocolate bar actually has health benefits as long as you don't overindulge.  Studies have shown that the flavonoids in dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
  • When choosing any candy, the "bite size" will satisfy your craving without all the calories of a "full size" candy.
