As we enter the summer months, we think of all the outside parties we will attend.  Be sure to make wise food choices.  Take advantage of the nice weather and do as many activities outside as possible.

Yes, you're more active during the summer, but you also have more yummy food temptations like mom's potato salad at the family BBQ and the late night treats at the local ice cream shack.  Get a grip on sumptuous summer foods...here are some hints to making smarter choices.
 
  • Can't pass up that grilled cheeseburger or sweet Italian sausage?  Consider having it minus the the bread. 
  • So many salads, so little time.  Between the pasta salad, egg salad and potato salad, you'll have enough calories for two meals.  Which one is your favorite?  Allow yourself a helping of it and forgo the others.
  • Ice cream is a good source of calcium, but moderation is key.  If you like low-cal frozen yogurt, opt for that.  If you must have the high-test, watch the portion.  Go for a small cup or cone and hold the toppings.  If you must have a topping, choose wisely.

The Weight Loss Clinic will include the following each week:
  • weigh ins and motivational sessions
  • 1/2 hour exercise program
  • "Helpful Holly Hints" on diet and nutrition, how to fit exercise into your busy schedule, and which exercises are effective and which are not.
Space is limited to 6 people.  Get your body ready for your new bathing suit.
