Prayer

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Vision & Goals
 VISION

All Episcopalians in Hawai`i shall work together to create a Church filled with visible and spirit-driven Christians - Christians who are eager to share our Episcopal tradition and faith, and traditional Hawaiian spiritual values, with those who have not yet found a spiritual anchor in their lives.

GOALS

1)  Convert our Hearts to Accept Jesus' Gospel Message and to Live in a Deep Relationship with God.
2)  Transform the Episcopal Church in Hawai`i and Congregations to Vital and Vibrant Faith Communities.
3)  Evangelize to Share God's Love in Our Communities.
4)  Reduce the structure and administration costs of the Diocese so that its operations, including its bodies, are directed to supporting transformation and growth.

The Five Marks of Mission of the Worldwide Anglican Communion:

1)  To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom

2)  To teach, baptize and nurture new believers

3)  To respond to human need by loving service

4)  To seek to transform unjust structures of society

5)  To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

New Parking Procedures at St. Andrew's Cathedral

st andrewsEffective June 1, new procedures for parking at St. Andrew's Cathedral will be taking place.  Diamond Parking Services, a parking management company, has been contracted to take over the operational aspect of the parking lot.  Volunteers and visitors to the Cathedral, St. Paul's and the Office of the Bishop will need to display visitor passes in their car during times outside of services and major events.

Visitors and those doing business in the Cathedral offices will park in the reserved office visitor area (curved stall area fronting the Memorial Building), and must proceed to the Cathedral office to obtain a parking pass.

Those with business in the Bishop's Office may request a parking pass for one of a limited number of reserved stalls in Lot D.  Lot D is located on the mauka side of the Memorial Building and is accessed via Queen Emma Square.  Please be aware that coordination of activities with other entities on the Close may take stalls out of service from time to time.

Use of Cathedral parking for meetings and events taking place at the Cathedral will require significant advance notice to Diamond Parking.  Exact time frame and procedures for reservation requests and obtaining approval will be posted shortly on the diocesan website.

For more information, call Diamond Parking Services at 808-592-7275 or call St. Andrew's Cathedral office at 808-524-2822 or 524-2823.

Save the Date!  Cool Congregations:  An Earth Stewardship Program

The Hawai'i Interfaith Power & Light (HIPL) is pleased to announce a program in which you will discover the foundations of faith stewardship.  People of faith from around the nation are caring for God's creation by becoming aware of the theological underpinnings of conservation and stewardship, and then reducing energy use in their homes.  These easy to adopt changes will reduce the pollution that causes degradation of our islands, and you will realize how simple it can be to waste not, want not!

SAVE THE DATE!  You are invited to attend an interfaith training workshop on Saturday, September 17, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, to learn how to become a COOL CONGREGATION!  Venue and more details will be announced soon, or stay informed through the diocesan website.

The "Cool Congregations" workshop is a stewardship program to help you measure and reduce your household energy footprint.

For more information, contact Carolynn Bell-Tuttle at hipl@hipl.org.

Pilot Program nurtures leadership for Episcopal Young Adults

Young adults have an opportunity to participate in an innovative pilot program, the Episcopal Leadership Institute for Young Adults (ELIYA), which centers on leadership and advocacy training.

Presented by the Episcopal Church, ELIYA is designed for those 18 - 30 year olds who wish to develop their skills and knowledge while conversing with Episcopal leaders and connecting with existing networks and structures of the church.

Applications are now being accepted for the next session, an Eco-Justice Immersion Experience, to be held August 27 through September 1, in Seattle, Washington.  This session will focus on the themes of sustainable economy, climate justice, and eco-theology.  The six-day program includes discussion sessions with national and regional leaders from both the faith and non-profit worlds, hiking, and working on advocacy techniques for eco-justice.

Applications are due by June 15.  For details and registration information, visit www.episcopalchurch.org/eliya, or contact Jason Sierra, Young Adult and Campus Ministries, or Mike Schut, Economic and Environmental Affairs.

Everyone, Everywhere 2011 Event

The Episcopal Church domestic and global mission explored at special conference

Congregations, individuals and dioceses can gain much from the extensive global and domestic mission work of the Episcopal Church at a special four-day conference, Everyone, Everywhere 2011.

"The hearbeat of the church is mission," Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori said.  "The Episcopal Church is increasingly committed to engagement in mission partnerships within and beyond our borders."

The conference will be held on October 13 - 16, at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, with early registration available through June 30.

Representatives from throughout the Episcopal Church and other provinces of the Anglican Communion will lead discussions on the theme, Where is your place in Mission?  Presiding Bishop Jefferts Schori will preach at the opening Eucharist with Bishop Robert O'Neill of Colorado.  The event will feature over two dozen workshops presented by missioners in the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion.
