Greetings!

We would like to introduce you to an exciting new prospect for the education of Louisiana's children.

Oklahoma A+ SchoolsŪ (OKA+) is a research-based whole school network with a mission of nurturing creativity in every learner through an arts-integrated school network.

OKA+ has a replicable model that GRFA wants in Louisiana. We have an actionable plan to start a Louisiana A+ network and we hope you will take the time to learn more.

Thank you for your continued support!

On June 4, 5 and 6, GRFA hosted information sessions about A+ Schools for the New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette communities.

At each of the well-attended events, GRFA gained support for the A+ movement in Louisiana. Thank you to everyone that attended!

    A+ Essentials

The Oklahoma A+ Schools network delivers whole school transformation through ongoing professional development by A+ Fellows that focuses on a set of commitments that include daily arts instruction, experiential learning and enriched assessment.

    A+ Fellows

A+ Fellows provide on-site professional development throughout the year and conduct training in summer institutes and conferences in the eight A+ Essentials for member A+ Schools

Imagine them as the dream staff at every position in a K-12 school. In Oklahoma, there are 60 of them that are experts in education, curriculum, visual art, music, dance, and/or arts-integration and they span the entire state.

    A+ Research and Results

OKA+ Schools see significant achievement differences. Every year since it was founded in 2002, OKA+ Schools have outperformed their districts and state averages on standardized tests.

Plus an extensive five year research report shows that A+ Schools have:

    Higher Student Achievement

Better Attendance of Students and Teachers

    Decreased Discipline Problems

    Stronger Parent and Community Involvement

A More Creative and Joyful School Climate

    Plan to Start Louisiana A+

Louisiana students deserve a more engaged and successful education experience.

After spending over a year learning more about the A+ Arts-Integrated Model by working with Oklahoma A+ Schools, GRFA knows that the time is now to start an A+ System in Louisiana.
