Unless you are traveling to Thailand where you can buy shirts for a dollar, negating having to pack anything but toiletries and that money belt your helpful neighbor loaned you, you will have to pack.  If you're like a lot of people, this can lead to Packing Paralysis.
Here are a few reasons not to fret:

1. You're going on a vacation!  Get in the spirit!  Put on a tropical shirt if that helps set the mood, or lieder hosen, or something appropriate to where you're going.  Maybe a little background music?

2. Know that if you gather the things you can't replace and pack them first, anything you might forget won't matter.

3. Our Research Dept (Sharon) discovered a great website that is loaded with travel info, so go read up.  Knowledge is Power!  Take their quiz and find out what kind of Packing Personality you are, and receive customized tips to help smooth out that holiday road.

Packing Tips For That Perfect Vacation
  1. Lock your checked bags with TSA-approved locks; otherwise, if your bag is selected for random screening, agents will have to break the lock to get inside.
  2. Do not overpack your bag. Screeners will have a difficult time closing your luggage if selected for inspection, which will only lead to wrinkles and the potential for lost articles. If your bag cannot be easily closed, take something out!
  3. Placing garments in plastic bags (such as those that come from a dry cleaners) before folding and packing will help to prevent wrinkling.
  4. Rolling up pants, t-shirts, etc. will lessen wrinkling and give you more space.
  5. Put cosmetics, shoe polish, nail enamel, perfume, and anything else that might spill, break, and stain your clothing into resealable plastic bags or unbreakable containers.
  6. Placing rolled up socks and other soft clothing items inside shoes will save space and help the shoes keep their shape.
  7. Reminder-keep it under 50 pounds. Just one pound over could cost you up to $150.

DO NOT pack the following items in your checked baggage:
Jewelry
Cash
Laptop
Fragile items
Small unruly children
