Dr Clay writes, "I have been doing a lot of OMT on the Special Forces guys. They are going to take me out to the range to fire practice firing weapons which should be fun.
I have been learning a lot and doing medicine is the least of my duties - we do a lot of eye washes with all the sand. Most of my responsibilities are administrative as the Chief of Clinical Services. So far, my commander is pleased with the work that we have all done."
"One more thing, if you send any packages or letters, please make sure that you do not write the word "Iraq" on the address. Most of these packages go to the Iraqi post where they are searched and confiscated. Please send to the APO address I gave to everyone. Thank you to those who have sent packages- it is like Christmas when they get here. :) "
While Dr Clay is in Iraq, his patients from Akron have been referred to our shared office in Middleburg Heights.
We also want to extend a warm welcome to all patients who have been cared for over the last 13 years at OsteoMed II and are now seeing Dr. Clay or Dr. Cheryl at their respective offices. You are always welcome in our office to be seen by any member of our multi-specialty team!

Cardiovascular Disease:
Good reasons to Get Serious

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the world, accounting for nearly 30% of deaths globally, far exceeding the number of deaths from infectious disease. The three of the worst offenders-tuberculosis, malaria, and AIDS -combined account for only 10% of world mortality. In the United States, CVD became the leading cause of death by the mid 20th century. We have managed to decrease the death rate overall but at great cost: We spend an estimated $432 billion in direct and indirect costs on cardiac care in the United States for a population of 300 million. What are the primary causes of heart disease? There are several, but they all boil down to one primary cause: Lack of an plan for results.
Osteomed's new weight loss and lifestyle management system is the answer. A combination of thyroid and adrenal testing, blood testing for vitamin levels and lipid particle size and a dietary supplement that directly targets belly fat can put you on the right track for 2009.
Call today for an appointment with Paula to discuss your adrenals and how to keep your promise to yourself to be lean in 2009. 440-239-3438. |

Welcome Dr Matt Grant
Dr. Tenpenny and the Osteomed team is very excited to welcome Dr. Matt Grant, a chiropractor with a special focus on sports medicine and injured extremities. Dr. Grant will expand our pain management program and help with women's atheletic injuries.
Dr. Grant obtained his undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University and then went on to study chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. After completing this training, Matt went on to become a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner, from the Counsil on Extremity Adjusting.
Dr Grant has been in practice since 2001 and has grown up understanding the benefits chiropractic care. In fact, when I first met Matt, he told me he was inpired to become a chiropractor after being a long-time patient of my dad, Dr. Alan Tenpenny.
Dr. Matt will be at Osteomed on Monday and Thursday. I am sure you will feel better under his care. I know I have! |

The Experiment Continues
The CDC has declared that by 2010 all children aged 6 months to 18 years must be given an annual influenza vaccination. Pediatricians are feeling overwhelmed with the mandate to vaccinate an additional 30 million children every year. So the possibility of vaccinating school-aged children during school hours is one option being considered.
"We are looking at schools as a good setting to successfully vaccinate adolescents," Lance Rodewald, MD, pediatrician and director of the Immunization Services Division of the CDC, said in an interview. The idea is to create a partnership between a health department and a community vaccinator like the visiting nurses or the commercial vaccinators to go to schools and vaccinate. This will ensure that all will be vaccinated.
But what if you want to refuse the flu shot? That is not even being considerd. The right to refuse will be taken away unless we all unite...now. Get all the ammunition that you need in my book, Saying No To Vaccines.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I am 100% convinced of the vaccine-autism connection, and soon, we will have the absolute proof. Watch the seven-minute trailer for a taste of what is to come.

ACTIVISM:
GET INVOLVED
Magazines seem to have a variety of fates. Some issues get saved indefinitely while others go immediately to the recycling bin. Rather than tossing out mags that are barely crumpled or even read, here are a few good suggstions for ways to re-use magazines:
-
Ask teachers if they can use them for school projects.
-
Send a stack to our Service men and women overseas.
-
Shred the pages to use as filler for mailing packages.
-
Donate them to a homeless shelter, women's shelter, senior center or orphanage.
-
Cut out images and make a vision board for seeing your future life.
Or, if you don't feel comfortable with that, give them to Freecycle, a grassroots nonprofit movement of people around the globe. The purpose is to donate and reuse items, keeping good, barely used stuff out of landfills. Each group is moderated by a local and membership is free. Have fun! |
