NH Visitor Center News
News from our Official NHGSA Member Centers
Greetings!

We are finally home!! After spending 4-5 days at a time shlepping boxes and talking to a record number of potential guests at The Big E, you are ready for a break. The only problem is your brain won't shift out of the mode for days after you return. We dream of boxes and brochures night after night. At 10am, you think to yourself "the building is opening," and at 9pm your imagining the big doors closing for the evening.  I know Judi and I are still plowing through our emails and to-do lists and promise to catch up real soon. Here are a couple of my important messages:
  • Huge shout-out to Dan & Anita M for going above and beyond helping me out day after day during my stint managing the info booth.
  •
  • Rose S nominated our White Mountain Mikey for Host of the Day at the Expo in honor of his 35th year. I was told by the powers-that-be that had he not been awarded the honor 10 years ago, he would have been a shoe in!
  • Thank you to the Jordan's for my special nip from Bermuda. Looking forward to sipping this weekend!
  •
  • On Tuesday, dust off your Navy pants and put the Khaki's away. Day after Columbus Day is the uniform swap until Ice Out in the Spring.

We hope you enjoy our 2nd edition of the GSA Member Center Newsletter! Next weeks regular Quick Notes is looking like it will be so jam-packed that I'll have to hold it together with duct tape! Watch your inbox and keep your scissors at the ready.

Manchester's Chili Classic...
The GSA calendar filled quickly for the upcoming "Chili Classic" on October 13 & 14 at Veterans Park. GSA's will be offering a table of Manchester information for attendees to the event. There is a lot to do prior and after the Chili Event! Details will be forthcoming to those who will be volunteering that day. Bob Costa of TV Diner will be presenting the awards!

GSAs Are Always Creative!
Last week three lovely ladies came to the Manchester Information Center. They had about an hour to kill prior to another event at the Radisson and wanted something to do...after suggesting several things with no positive response...this creative GSA suggested a free bus tour of the City. The Green Dash is free transportation to get people from the downtown area to the millyard. The Green Dash stops out front of MIC. He suggested on their trip... they should watch to see the diversity of the millyard, the downtown shopping, restaurants, churches etc. They boarded The Green Dash and waved a goodbye...they returned with big smiles and another happy wave!!!!

Network PM Invitations
As a Thank you to the GSA's who serve at the Manchester Information Center & 54 Hanover St., the Chamber of Commerce extends invitations to be our guests to Network PM's at locations that benefit both the GSA and the host. It's an opportunity to visit hotels, restaurants, schools...anything that helps you serve in Manchester. Several GSA's attended the last event at the Bedford Village Inn. It was a wonderful evening of good food and fun! Watch for other opportunities to attend...this is a thank you to you for serving at MIC and Hanover St....come and enjoy!

Fresh from promoting MHT in the NH Tourism Booth at The Big E, we jump right into the Airport's 3rd Annual Customer Appreciation Day this Friday 10/5/12!

We have 43 GSAs signed up to help out... This is a fun event and the guests really love it. Here are our pictures from 2011 & 2010.

Our 7 GSAs who are participating in the Secure-Side walk-about pilot program are underway. I have been away (at The Big E) for most of the time, but will be working to bring your our updates, pictures, and reports soon.

Our Quarterly Meeting with Airport Director Mark Brewer has been changed from October 23rd to November 27th.

Thanks!

The Bureau of Visitor Services is working on closing the Lebanon, Littleton and Colebrook Welcome and Information Centers October 8 for the winter.  While they are closed, we will be painting inside these centers, organizing the brochures in a more visitor friendly format and making some other miscellaneous updates.  Canterbury Welcome and Information Center has been equipped with a computer recently.  Sanbornton Welcome and Information Center's hours will remain in effect as Monday-Sunday, 8am-8pm.  A new highway sign was revealed at the Salem Welcome and Information Center recently.  The sign includes DTTD's new brand.
