Greetings!

Big E, Big E, Big E on my brain!
Kids can volunteer under our Future Leaders of NH program!
Must have 1:1 ratio with GSA
Orientation #1 done and #2 is tomorrow. As most of you know, Judi, Nathan and I make up the management team and we have divided up the days between us. At orientation, I realized that I am not nearly as popular as Judi and Nathan -- so I'm resorting to bribery. If you volunteer when I am manager, I will be sure we have loads of fun (I get punchy when I'm tired) and we have candy available. Not enough? Send me your suggestions :) and watch for my name on the calendar!

Days that still have some giant holes in them include: Saturday, September 15th; Monday, September 17th- Friday, September 21st; Tuesday, September 25th-Friday September 28th. There are still shifts available on other days too.

~Kel

Keep the Conversation Going
Can't make The Big E? Keep up on all the fun for this and other events by "liking" our Facebook Page. Judi and Nathan have a small addiction to posting which I love to benefit from :). What a great resource and source of information.

You are invited to join us for the fun at the Big E!

Plan to eat at the fair? Purchase your "Food Funds" now through September 12th and save 20%.

Judi hosting Benedictine Park Hike Fall Gathering
Does not count towards your annual 4 tours.

Join me as I host this gathering exploring the beautiful fall season with a short hike from Benedictine Park through Van Loan Preserve in Bedford. This hike is near my childhood home (and still home of my parents). Bring a picnic basket to swap... We are going to have a lunch swap... so make something extra special! - Also during the hike we will have the opportunity to write something in the hidden diary (if you can find it). It is a rated 4 tour because we will be hiking in the wood on dirt trails... but I will say... it is not a hard hike, it is a walk and talk hike.

NH FOR THE HOLIDAYS EXPO
& GIFT WRAPPING FUNDRAISER

Earn "Event" hours to use towards the Indian Head Perk!

Lisa J and I have been comparing notes on our gift wrapping abilities. My friends and family never need a tag to identify gifts from me. They mostly resemble a hunk of wrinkled paper covered in gobs and gobs of tape. Sometimes I even get fancy and staple some ribbon on...

All that is going to change for me this year! GSA will be hosting several gift wrapping lesson opportunities (orientation, our holiday gathering and a couple others) to make us the best little wrappers ever at our first ever Gift Wrapping Table at the NH for the Holidays event.
Need some Special Event volunteer hours? We are looking for GSAs to help out with greeting guests and handing out programs, keeping an eye on the holiday trees, walking the floor to assist guests and exhibitors, and wrapping gifts.

Show dates/times:

Saturday, December 8, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Sunday, December 9, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (5:00 pm)

ORIENTATION - WED, NOV 28TH, 10:30-12:30

NH Visitor Center News

SUCCESSFUL LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
--------------------------------------
Tolls and Welcome Information Centers Busy

Concord, New Hampshire, September, 2012 - Traffic through the New Hampshire turnpike system was up 3.6% on average for the four day Labor Day Weekend holiday, according to the New Hampshire Bureau of Turnpikes.  There were 1,353,707 vehicles through the tolls for the four day weekend with Monday showing the highest increase over last year at 6.8%.

"It's a positive sign that roads were busy and traffic through the tolls was up for the holiday weekend, when in recent years it has been relatively flat," said Bill Boynton, spokesperson for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
