Greetings!
Thank you for my small break. We had a great time on vacation. As a rule, we are NH Stay-cationers. This year we went up to Glen Ellis Campground in Glen NH. What a beautiful and well-equiped place. It's sandwiched between the Ellis and Saco rivers which provide two different experiences in themselves. While we were there, we played at Storyland and Attitash and cruised N. Conway's main street for a bit of shopping. You know, the stores are all open in the evening -- very festive atmosphere. The stop at the MET coffee house & gallery for a hot Chai was the perfect end to the evening. OOO, OOO - I almost forgot... for those of you America's Got Talent fans -- The Olate Dogs are a featured performer at StoryLand's circus!! What an awesome surprise. They are even better in person. ~Kel Opening Dates Announced The following tours will open
on Tuesday, August 14th at 8am
. You can find more info on the volunteer website or click the links below. INVITATION TO ATTEND - OPEN TO ALL GSAs The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire has offered us the opportunity to learn more about New Hampshire's exciting aviation history. The Aviation Museum is New Hampshire's only working museum devoted to the preservation of aviation history in the Granite State. Please join the Division of Travel and Tourism's Bureau of Visitor Services Welcome and Information Staff to visit and tour the Aviation Museum of NH in Manchester on August 8 from 10-11:30. Please sign up on the GSA online calendars by August 5 if you are interested. This is an invitation to attend and not an official GSA tour so it will not count towards your annual 4. There will be no onsite manager. GSA uniforms are required. New GSA Social Network The GSA Social Network is almost ready. We are debugging it and working out some kinks. We have created the GSA Social Network to give you a place to ask questions, provide answers, enter into conversations, make new friends and get to know your fellow GSAs. You can even start your own social groups -- create a luncheon group; gardening club, share a ride, connect to other GSAs... it's up to you.
We are looking for some brave GSAs to try it out and tell us what you think. From our GSA Private Volunteer Website, click on the GSA Social Network link in the navigation bar. For your privacy, you will have to register for an account to participate.

GSA Recommendation When Visiting NH
 What a Suite Tour!
by Lisa J Jackson
St. Mary's Bank and America's Credit Union Museum Class of '08
The GSA perk tour for SpringHill Suites in Manchester was a lot more than I expected. I knew the hotel was on Perimeter Road and since I volunteer at the airport a lot, I felt it would be worthwhile to learn about a local hotel.
About a dozen GSAs went on the tour, which ended up including 4 properties, which was a nice surprise. The night before the tour, serious thunderstorms caused a lot of delayed and cancelled flights, so vacant, clean rooms were minimal.
SpringHill Suites is at 975 N. Perimeter Road and just minutes from the airport. It's a Marriott hotel and one tidbit I learned is that all Marriotts are non-smoking. We were greeted by 3 hotel staff in the comfortable lobby. Warm chocolate chip cookies (delicious!) were made for our visit, along with a couple other desserts and fresh fruit. There was also coffee, tea, and cucumber water to drink.
By: Ed Gartland, Granite State Ambassador Franco-American Centre Class of 2007& Hanni Gartland, Granite State AmbassadorSt Mary's Bank Class of 2008During the recent GSA expedition to the Lake Sunapee area, Hanni and I had the privilege of spending the night at the Inn at Pleasant Lake, located on Pleasant St at the west end of Pleasant Lake in New London, NH. Hmmmm, do you get the idea that it was kinda pleasant, pleasant, pleasant? Brian and Linda MacKenzie own and operate the Inn. After cooking at a number of locations between the Rockies and the Atlantic, Brian decided on a life career as a chef and sought training by the CIA (not THAT "CIA", but the Culinary Institute of America).

What are our GSAs up to?
GSA & writer Anura Guruge published a blog article about the Huggins Fair in Wolfeboro this weekend. Take a peek! On another note, Anura is excited that for the second time in less than 6 months the Rome Reports (TV) cited his papal statistics! Take a look.
