GSA Recommendation When Visiting NH
Recently my co-leader & I took our Girl Scout troop to Logs-of-Fun and Daytona Fun Park in Weirs Beach for an outing. I love living in central NH - we have the very best of everything in a short drive and this trip was even more proof. Rusty & Kim Bertholet & their staff were incredible and very generous with their time and expertise. They really know kids and know how to make them spontaneously jump in the air exclaiming, "Best Day Ever!"

GSA Recommendations Blog
Portsmouth is Great Destination Day or Night
Walking up Market Street in Portsmouth the other evening, after hearing a wonderful, free talk sponsored by the Piscataqua Maritime Commission on the War of 1812 at the historic Moffett-Ladd House Barn, I enjoyed the relaxed party atmosphere emanating from the restaurants and stores. It highlighted the comment made by the lecturer (and curator of the Portsmouth Historical Society), Sandra Rux, that Portsmouth is enjoying an economic success today greater than any time since before the Revolutionary War.

Day in the Life of a Granite State Ambassador
The Power of Parks: Remembering Why I Do What I Do
by: Judi Window, President/CEO
Walking from my car into Bear Brook State Park I met up with Commissioner Bald. Our short discussion included the niceties. He asked, "Hi how are you?" I answered, "Fine how are you?" [We have an on-going joke about how to answer such questions...] But his reply setup the rest of the evening for me... This is what he answered "Someone in my office told me that I should come to this event to remember why we do what we do." -- For a man of a few words, his short poignant stories are more fable than story. Thank you Commissioner.

What are our GSAs up to?
Back Volunteering as a GSA
by Anura Guruge
I 'passed' my 2-day, SNHU run, GSA certification course, in Laconia, in the Spring of 2001. So, I have been a GSA since then. I was fairly active during the first 18 months, typically volunteering Thursday mornings at the Laconia Chamber of Commerce. It was the then director of that Chamber, the larger-than-life, Kinney O'Rouke, who got me involved with the GSA. Read Anura's personal blog about living in NH...
