Greetings!
I am so looking forward to the Independence Day holiday. With several family birthdays that week, it is always a bang-up time!Judi is back and plugged in to the internet. I was a little worried about her going through withdrawal but she came through it with flying colors (and relaxed too)!
Lots of fun stuff in today's newsletter including a special incentive offer from the Plymouth State University Ice Arena. Between now and July 25th, volunteer for a minimum of 12 hours and receive a pair of tickets for the Taste of Newfound - this is a $40 value. For volunteering 6 hours, receive a pair of skating passes for the Ice Arena to be used during open public skate time . Pass includes skate rental, and this is a $20 value.
Save the Date - Waterville Valley / White Mountain National Forest Tour - August 21, 2012.
This tour will open on July 6th at 8am. This will be an active 4+ tour with hiking, paddling and more. You will need to be able to do a lot of physical activity. The hours requirement will be 50 hours AND/OR any GSA who has volunteered at the Waterville Valley or White Mountains Visitor Center at least 3 hours in the past 4 months or scheduled for July/August is eligible.
These northern centers really need GSAs this time of year. They are putting together some great perks including skating, event tickets, golf, tennis... Please consider giving them a try!

There are still plenty of shifts available for The Big E. We have just scheduled the orientations - You can choose between September 4th from 2-4pm or September 7th from 10am-noon.
I am so excited! Wait until you see the hotel the management team is in--- oooooh nice! -- There are discounted rooms available for GSAs too. Find out more at
If you have never been, this is the ultimate place to do your holiday shopping (and eat anything you can imagine.... fried). It makes a fun get-a-way for friends / couples too.

Day in the Life of a GSA Blog
In the middle of the heat wave last week, the New Hampshire Granite State Ambassadors trekked up the Ossipee Mountain Range to visit Castle in the Clouds, Tom and Olive Plant's mountaintop estate "Lucknow". After driving through the admission gates, each car enjoyed the two mile ride up to the top of the mountain, with several interesting stopping points along the way to get out and enjoy the gorgeous views. What a wonderful way to decompress and prepare oneself for the journey back to 1914, when Lucknow was originally constructed. Read more about the recent Castle tour...

Children's Museum of NH a (Grand)Parents Dream
Submitted by:
Class of 2009
Oh what fun it is to be at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover!
This stop was the main reason we wanted to attend this tour because the museum is a parent/grandparents dream. It's so very hands on that the adults have just as much fun as the children. The cost is reasonable so you can stay for an hour or a day. Playing music on the music wall, seeing yourself on television with the green screen tuned into your choice of ethnic dance character, assisting pretend fish up the fish ladder, all so much fun. We've been 4 times so far and there will be a family trip again this year. Read more about Anita and Dan's experience....
