Greetings!

PLEASE WELCOME THE
Historical Society of Cheshire County Class of 2012

Sunday night before the certification training I met Judi and Nathan at The Days Inn in Keene. Talk about hospitality!! As I approached, Jim N, GSA and GM of the Days Inn, met me at the door to invite me in and help me with my bag. (Jim and I started with GSA at the same time back in 2002.)
Judi had just arrived before me and we had to juggle giving Jim a welcome hug and petting a very jealous Aggie.

What a fabulous night -- we sat in the lobby and talked, laughed, ate Chinese food... and eventually retired to our respective rooms. After spending the weekend camping with my Girl Scout troop -- it was pure heaven --  sleeping in a giant bed 'alone' with a big TV that I didn't have to share, a flush toilet and very hot shower with awesome pressure.... aaahhh. THANK YOU JIM! I so needed that!

GSA Service Award- Gary & Kate Bashine

Hospitality from the Heart- Sue Geyer

Sunshine Award- Joanne Tethers

Center Manager of the Year- Christine Colby

Nathan wrote a great recap about his first AMBIES. Be sure and read it below. From his blog, you can link to our extensive photo album. Thank you Michelle D for your stellar camera work!

Since I (Kelly) write the newsletter, I get to give extra kudos to my award! This year's winner's of my Member Services award for the most hours accumulated in the past year were: Paul Lacourse 640; Richard Russell 508; Lorraine Charron 459; Yvonne Cote 402; Vivian Villemure 378; Sue Greenbaum 371. Each of these dedicated GSAs were given an enthusiastically donated $50 gift certificate good at any of the Great New Hampshire Restaurants -- T-Bones, Cactus Jack's or the Copper Door along with other CJs goodies.

Ovations were a popular theme at this year's Granite State Ambassador AMBIE Awards & luncheon. I have never been to the AMBIES before, so it would not surprise me that ovations are the norm at this event. Judi as always, out did herself. She and the rest of the Staff and GSAs were able to surprise every award winner, including myself, Christine Colby (Center Manager of the Year) and our GSA of the year, Lorraine Charron. It was an honor to be a part of such a remarkable group celebrating each other. The Future Leaders of NH brought bright young smiles as they ran back  and forth to the front door to help the GSAs find their seats. Their smiles and attitudes only got brighter as they all received Citations from the Governor and their very own NHGSA badges.

Day in the Life of a Walking Granite State Ambassador
by Sara Corrigan, GSA
PSU Ice Arena/Welcome Center Class of 2011

I am sure many of you are juggling many commitments in your life and trying to fit in exercise is always a challenge. Well the walk about at Manchester airport does both.

On my recent assignment at MHT as a GSA Walk About , I tracked 2.5 miles, which in my opinion is an added bonus of being a Granite State Ambassador!

·         I assisted multiple MHT travelers on my 3 hour assignment from 6pm to 9pm, Sunday May 20th
·         I walked 2.3 miles
·         I burned 505 Calories

Provide outstanding service to New Hampshire guests, get fit and healthy, too!!

League of New Hampshire Craftsmen
Class of 2012

New Hampshire has countless places to hike and explore, but this lesser known spot is one of the state's most unusual and special places for a walk in the woods. Think of a sculpture park. Instead of it being in a more predictable urban setting, put it in the midst of a wild space, say, a small mountain. Line the area with lovely trails that wind through sun dappled glades and quiet clearings, some with quintessential New England views of rolling hills and church steeples. Now... make sure there are so many sculptures that you can't see them all in one day... and you will have the Andres Institute of Art in Brookline, New Hampshire.
