Greetings!

Howdy do to y'all! No reason for the drawl just havin' some fun and psyching myself up for my to-do list and thanking my stars that it's nothing like the rest of the GSA crew -- phew. We just completed the final Customer Service training for the NH Visitor Information Center Staff. What a great group of folks who sincerely care about our traveling guests. We had such a wonderful time with them. The available GSA shifts at the State Visitor Information Centers have changed recently to enhance your experience and to better add value to the service they already provide. Visit the "Member Center" pages and click on the center that interests you for more details.

While you are there visit the new
Lakes Region - Weirs Beach Center
page. This center will be opening on Memorial Day. GSA shifts will be for July and August. The GSA shifts will NOT have staff available to assist you therefore, we do ask that you select one of the many staffed mentor shifts that are on the calendar for June -- Motorcycle Week: June 8-16 and June 28, 29 & 30.

Alton Bay's volunteer schedule is up and available. GSAs can volunteer Memorial Day Weekend - Mid-October, Thursday - Sunday with shifts from 8am-5pm. Ahhh, life is tough --- all that hanging around by the lake doing what we love!

The Lakes Region Tourism Association's FAM Tour
(see new drop in hours requirement to the left) just sent some more details on for the tour as their planning progresses. Visit their tour page for more info.
Planned Agenda Highlights (detailed to come):
Loon Center; Castle in the Clouds; NH Boat Museum; Wright Museum; Hampshire Pewter; Gunstock Mountain Adventure Park; Tanger Outlet Center; Canterbury Shaker Village; NH Motor Speedway; Weathervane for dinner;  OVERNIGHT AT INNS & SPA AT MILL FALLS; PSU Ice Arena; Polar Caves; Manor on Golden Pond; Squam Lakes Natural Science Center; Keepsake Quilting; Moulton Farm; Annalee Dolls; Church Landing; American Police Motorcycle Museum; Funspot; Monkey Trunks; Kellerhaus; Winni Playhouse; Logs of Fun; Daytona Fun Park; Sophie C Cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee.

The Rock'n Rib Fest is still looking for active GSAs to volunteer. After your shift, take a stroll around the grounds and get your mitts on some seriously messy and yummy grub!

And lastly, keep your eye out next week for a new GSA class! They will no doubt be enthusiastic and looking for mentor shifts. Yet another great opportunity to meet even more fantastic folks.

~Kel

NHGSA Recommendations When Visiting NH

Dancing Lion Chocolate Offers Pure Indulgence

S
ubmitted by Richard Russell
Granite State Ambassador

Class of 2009

If you are visiting Manchester, NH, go directly to 917 Elm Street and the DANCING LION CHOCOLATE shop. Absolutely do not stop anywhere else until you get there. This stop will give you an introduction to the absolute best, most decadent and tantalizing chocolate imaginable. I am saying this after having tasted chocolate in many exceptionally fine chocolate shops throughout the world. Going the extra mile to stop at this shop will be well worth the investment. You will feel like you are in a chocolate shop in Paris, Brussels, New York City, Montreal, or Sydney.

Anne Marie Hatin, GSA
League of NH Craftsmen Class 2012

Dick and I, Granite State Ambassador volunteers, staffed the NH Information Booth at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport on April 22, 2012 from the 5am-9am.  What a surprise and honor it was to be at the airport that morning.  We had a lot of visitors before six am as there was an honor flight leaving this morning for Washington with WWII veterans.  They had a police officer playing bagpipes with the anthems for the respective services.  We were so moved by this ceremony and I wanted to share it with you and my fellow GSA's.
