Greetings!
You know I love you all -- but today, I really DON'T want to write this newsletter!!! What an amazing day. My windows are all open, my desk is right up against them and feel like I'm outside, but it's just not quite the same... I have a serious case of Spring Fever!!! In fact, my mind has been drifting to the lake and to the annual Shakedown Cruise aboard the MS Mount Washington. This Lake Winnipesaukee cruise will be open to all GSAs (and won't count towards your 4 tours). We should have the date for you real soon but generally it happens on a Monday morning at the end of April / beginning of May. Watch the newsletter for details! Kel
 WHITE MOUNTAIN ATTRACTIONS PASSBOOK PERK

The WMA Attractions Passbook has 2 free 2012 tickets for the pass holder for 16 of their attractions. Watch this newsletter for more information on how to claim your passbook in mid-May. I have to submit a roster of GSAs that are eligible ahead of time - the roster will include hours up to March 31, same as the AMBIE awards. THE BIG E! September 14-30Granite State Ambassador's manage the NH Tourism Booth in the New Hampshire Building for roughly 12 hours a day, every day of the fair. Volunteers get free admission to the fair for each day you volunteer. Travel and lodging is on your own, but we do our best to get you some deals. The calendar will open for sign ups Monday, April 16, 1pm. Visit www.nhgsa.com/bige for highlights from last year! The AMBIE Awards Luncheon - June 7
The best event of the year for some serious achievement awarding and a great lunch by the Airport Diner - you can also invite a guest to introduce them to the Granite State Ambassadors. We still need more nominations - please, take moment to honor your peers and make their day! Visit www.nhgsa.com/ambies for more info, to nominate and to sign up. |

DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GSA
Memories of Springs Past, NHGSA and West High School
by Judi Window, President/CEO Ahhhh, Springtime in New Hampshire...teaching, speaking engagements, conferences, meetings, volunteerism, and community involvement... all part of my daily line-up of things to do each spring as head of NH Granite State Ambassadors. Since the the first week of March we have been running to every corner of the state to introduce our organization and programs to anyone who invites us. The month of March stared with our first Granite State Ambassadors (GSA) Certification training class of the season at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, graduating 18 new GSAs. Many of whom are already volunteering! Luckily Nathan, our intern from Plymouth State University, passed his final exam and is now an officially certified GSA, because he came with me to present information about NHGSA to the New England Ski Museum in Franconia, NH. Our host and the Museum's volunteer coordinator, Kay Kerr, is a GSA herself and is interested in getting all of their staff and volunteers trained as GSAs and "NH Information Specialists".

GSA RECOMMENDATIONS - PLANET MARSHMALLOW
Submitted by Lorry Young Granite State Ambassador Radisson Hotel Class of 2006 is an out-of-the-box creation by Heather Cox. It is located across the street from our historic Palace Theater on 81 Hanover Street. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying hand-crafted marshmallows sandwiched between homemade gourmet grahams and Hershey's chocolate known as s'mores. The cafe' provides a mini toaster so you can make your own at the table. It only takes seconds. Planet Marshmallow has a vast variety of specialty marshmallow flavors, quite unique and irresistible. They can be purchased at other specialty stores throughout the U.S. and on their website at www.planetmarshmallow.com. An array of other delectable desserts are offered as well at the cafe. To go along with your dessert are a variety of coffees, loose leaf teas, hot chocolate, and pop. Savory items can be enjoyed as well. Winter time sausage and spinach soup. Quiche of the day or maybe baked brie and assorted crackers paired with a glass of wine. Yes, they offer a nice selection of wines. What a great place to go after the theater for a snack.
