Greetings!

Hello Spring!! Are you just lovin' this weather shift?!  I know its blasphemy coming from the mountains but rest assure, there is still plenty of skiing to be had. I just remembered too that its time to check the window locks to see if I can prevent those sneaky Leprechauns from getting in again this year. Not sure what the allure is but those creepy little guys are my daughter's favorite magical creatures! Arghh

There are so many irons in the proverbial fire here at NHGSA's virtual headquarters. Seems we are going in a billion directions all at once some days. Here are just a few:

NHGSA spreads the great word
Judi and Nathan met with the folks at the New England Ski Museum in Francoia. They did a presentation about NHGSA to encourage their staff and volunteers to sign up for our certification training.  If you have know of other audiences that would benefit from knowing about NHGSA give Judi a call to coordinate a speaking engagement.

Another New Center! Waterville Valley Region Chamber
WELCOME!! I met with the Waterville Valley Region Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and their Exit 28 Visitor Information Center is now an official GSA Member Center. You may sign up for volunteer shifts most Thursdays & Friday - Sunday from 9am-5pm. The center is staffed during this time frame so you may sign up alone. This August the chamber is partnering with the White Mountain National Forest to host a recreational tour. Keep your eyes on the newsletter for more details. Visit www.watervillevalleyregion.com to learn more about the area.

Rockin' Rib Fest - Keep Savin' that Date!
Judi and NHGSA Board Secretary Kate Luczko met with Betsy Abrahams from the Nashua Rotary West to start the planning for the Rockin' Rib Fest. So mark you calendars for June 15-17 to hold the date to volunteer for our newest Special Event "Rock'n Ribfest." There will be more details to come but this is going to be a large, annual, event for us and that it will be tons of fun! --- Volunteer shifts will also be open to friends and family (with appropriate, required orientation). Visit their website at www.rotaryribfest.org.

Certification Training
There are 4 seats left in the Concord Training Class at the League of NH Craftsmen Headquarters on April 2nd and 3rd. Judi and Ami have been working to get everything in order to make sure their heads and tote bags and brimming with NH Information. Don't miss out....Have your STAFF, FRIEND, FAMILY sign up today for the Concord training or the White Mountain National Forest HQ in Campton (May 14-15) & Historical Society of Cheshire County in Keene (June 11-12)! Sign up at www.NHGSA.com - click on the training tab.

The Big E!
It's never to early to start thinking about The Big E! Honestly, I don't think we ever stop thinking about it. For you newer GSAs and those who haven't been, Granite State Ambassador's manage the NH Information Booth in the New Hampshire Building for roughly 12 hours a day, every day of the fair. This year The Big E will be from from September 14-30, 2012. Volunteers get free admission to the fair for each day you volunteer. Travel and lodging is on your own, but we do our best to get you some deals. This event is the highlight of my year and sooooo much fun!!!! Visit www.nhgsa.com/bige for highlights from last year!

The AMBIE Awards Luncheon
The best event of the year. Watch your email for the official invite to the annual AMBIE AWARDS LUNCHEON for some serious achievement awarding and a great lunch by the Airport Diner - you can also invite a guest to introduce them to the Granite State Ambassadors. We still need more nominations - please, take moment to honor your peers and make their day! Visit www.nhgsa.com/ambies for more info, to nominate and to sign up.

I'm running out of room so I have to stop!  Time to go outside and play a little (shhh, don't tell Judi).

Congratulations to Paul Lacourse!
On March 8th, Paul was honored by the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce with the Volunteer of the Year Award. It is in recognition to his years of volunteerism and steadfast dedication to New Hampshire Tourism and the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you to Jan M
Thank you Jan for adding information about the upcoming GSA trainings in your condo association newsletter. What a great idea to help spread the word.

It's time to vote for Best of NH 2012
The editor of NH Magazine, Rick Broussard would like you to be his eyes and ears. Send him your thoughts / opinions on perhaps some of the more obscure businesses in some of the less populated regions of the state. Here's your chance to get them on the radar -
.
New Hampshire Magazine is also asking for your formal nominations for the Best of...  The Food ballot is open through March 20 and the Shops and Services ballot is open through April 20. The last question on the survey is "Did we miss anything?" - I personally wrote in that the Granite State Ambassadors are the best volunteers because I truly believe that. Maybe I'll start a trend :)

Some BIG News!!!  Future GSA on the Way

D'Amelio Family PSA March 2012
D'Amelio Family - One more time...
CONGRATULATIONS AMI AND FAMILY!!

Virtual Tour: Cannon Mountain, Franconia
I found a couple great helmet camera, top to bottom videos of Cannon Mountain. One is skiing (and in French) and one is snowboarding. The skiing is prettier but the snowboarding makes me less dizzy.  I was getting a chill when I was watching them thinking wow, I really feel like I'm there -- then I realized I had the window open!
Cannon mountain top to bottom run 12/29
Snowboarding

Cannon Mountain, from TOP to BOTTOM... Wow...!!!!
