GSA Recommendations When Visiting NH Blog
I've been a New Hampshire Granite State Ambassador since the April 2011 Comfort Inn Airport, Manchester Class. GSAs that have been working at the airport for many years tell me there just isn't the activity at the airport like there used to be. Well, I have found the travelers! Try the 6 am - 9 am Walk-About shift. Wow, can you believe I had 72 clicks the first time I tried this shift? I thought, "Oh, this is a fluke." The next week, I had 64 clicks. This is a busy time of the day at the airport. If you want to answer lots and lots of questions, give this shift a try! Most of this shift is for outgoing flights; therefore, Walk Abouts have to be available as people are headed to the security lines. Questions range from "Is there coffee on the other side of the security point?" to "Is there an ATM?" to "Can I go through the security line with my elderly Mother?" to "I've had a pace maker since my last flight, do I need to tell TSA?"and the question always asked "ASK You WHAT?" (Walk Arounds always wear the ASK ME button) Last week, a woman asked a question, then she exclaimed, "I have never met so many helpful, friendly people as I have found in New Hampshire this week. And now you are here helping me at the airport. I'm coming back, NH is a great place." This 3-hour Walk About shift is fun and rewarding! I strongly recommend you give it a try soon!
