Greetings!
Feeling the Holiday Love yet? Only in New England can we have snow for Halloween and Thanksgiving and the potential for a green Christmas.
I (in my infinite power and wisdom) have decided that this will in fact NOT be the case and we WILL be deep in the white stuff in no time. Now if we can encourage Mother Nature to go along with it. It was nearly 50 degrees at my house today. The snow-turkey (wish I got a photo) has melted into an egg and when the leaves dry, I might even have another shot to finish my raking!
On Thursday morning, December 1st the March 2012 calendars will open at 6am. I do realize the time is not ideal for many, but we did a survey and the overwhelming response was to keep it at that time, consistant, except if there is extenuating curcumstances that are communicated (when possible) i.e. Large Power Outages, Large Events many GSAs will be at and away from their home (like the Big E).
If you need me to sign you up for shifts please let me know asap. Remember that I sign you up AFTER the calendars open and I generally have several people to attend too. Your odds of getting what you want are not high with me. If you can find yourself a computer buddy or if a relative to help you out you will have much better luck! Kelly

Bretton Woods Canopy Tour Great Way to Tour Mount Washington
Submitted by Dennis Roux, Granite State Ambassador Best Western Class of 2005
A very nice Sunday November 13, 2011 found Mariette and I traveling to Bretton Woods. We had reservations at noontime to take-in the Bretton Woods Canopy Tour of tree-top zip lines. Now the decision to do the Tour did not come easy. Both Mari and I have our issues with heights and motion sickness. But this Tour was to celebrate my 65th. So "issues" went out the window. Our tour included five "young" riders all from Portland, Me. In total our group numbered seven. After signing the requisite paperwork, our guides Carl and Zake set us into harnesses, moved us to a van, and we arrived near the mountaintop for a few minutes of instruction and a practice zip. The keys to Zip Lining are the body curling and the hand braking. If you are bad at either or both your run may come up short or long, A slow run may cause you not to reach the arriving platform. If you fail to brake you may come up too long (read over shooting the arriving platform). Not good!

Day in the Life of a GSA Blog
The Wild Orchard Guest Farm Offers Guests a Tranquil Space
On a brisk fall day, Molly Grant, Owner and Innkeeper of the Wild Orchard Guest Farm, welcomed a cozy group of Granite State Ambassadors to her home and business to learn more about the history, features and opportunities of this beautiful remote bed and breakfast.
The Wild Orchard Guest Farm has been operated as a bed and breakfast for almost five years, and over this time has built a nice list of clientele who return year after year to experience the beauty, revel in the quiet and enjoy the amenities. The list of these clientele is as delightfully surprising as the guest farm itself - the staff from the Reach the Beach Relay race, church retreats, and an invite-only master guitar workshop hosted by Ed Gerhard. In addition, Molly hosts artist residences as well as various artist retreats for beading, mosaics, and woodworking, just to name a few. In addition, the guest farm also includes a cordwainer shop where Molly crafts custom shoes by hand. The cordwainer shop is both a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and a member of New Hampshire Made.
