Greetings!

HAPPY SPRINGTER!

The snow is melting, it's 70 degrees... what else could it be??! We still have leaves on the trees to boot. Mother Nature must have fallen down and conked her head -- I'm sure feeling very confused right now. I know I am! I am glad to have had the reprieve.  I was just not prepared -- my yard was still full of leaves -- summer fun stuff still outside.

My husband on the other hand is chomping at the bit -- Cannon Mountain (image) has been calling to him in his sleep. At least the snowboard is still in the basement and hasn't made it to the kitchen yet!

I recently received a great Kudos email from Doreen at the Airport. She said a gentleman put a note in the Bright Ideas box commending 2 GSAs on October 3rd. We would like to identify these "helpful ladies" so please let us know if it was you. We had a few sets of ladies on duty that day....

"Your NH Information booth personnel - both fine women, were very helpful to me.  We were stranded with no vehicle to rent - all sold out and they offered many options from cab to bus to Amtrak - and finally to - web WiFi & we found a rental car from Enterprise.  Their helpfulness and Cheery friendly attitude has made my trip and day.
Thank you,
Gary"

One more example of just how much GSAs make a difference to New Hampshire's guests. Thank you!!

Kelly

Swan Chocolates
, a family name (Swan, not chocolates), is a wonderful stop if you are looking for a special New Hampshire made gift before heading home via the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. It is conveniently located on Route 3 in Merrimack near the new, soon-to-be opened, airport access road. The retail shop is a cozy building with beautiful lighting and comfy seating for coffee and chocolate tasting.

Abbotts Market was located on this spot for many, many years. As Granite State Ambassadors we are used to getting the history and details about buildings and business locations, this tour did not disappoint! I am sure if you asked (especially if you called ahead) they would be glad to tell you about the rich history of the building, the Abbotts and even the ghost sightings (and phone calls) in the building.

"RAYMOND WIECZOREK DRIVE" WILL OPEN TO MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC ON 11/11
A dedication ceremony recognizing the completion and naming of Raymond Wieczorek Drive (Manchester Airport Access Road) connecting the F.E. Everett Turnpike to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is set for Thursday, November 10, 2011.

The 10:00 am dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place on the new bridge over Little Cohas Brook on the Londonderry (airport) side of the new 1.75-mile highway.  The road has been named by State law after New Hampshire Executive Councilor Raymond Wieczorek, who also served as Mayor of the City of Manchester.

All interested persons are invited to tour the new roadway on foot or by bicycle at a public "open house" on November 10 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.  A "fun run" along the highway will begin at 9:15 am.  Read more...
MCMS Summer Band at Stark Park

It was so summery today I couldn't help but yearn for just one more summer night. I bring you now to one of my very favorite places growing up -- Stark Park. Yup, I may live in the mountains now, but I grew up in Manchester!
I hope you enjoy this performance by the Manchester Community Music School Band at the beautiful Stark Park in Manchester. Complete with guy singing along next to you!
