Granite State Ambassadors

50s Fun Trivia!
Who else out there is cranked about the 50s Sock Hop?!!! This bash is going to be such a blast. Since I was born in the 60s I've been cruisin' the internet looking for some fun trivia and slang to help get you in the mood.

Try your hand at this weeks trivia:

"Gunsmoke" began its 20 year run with Marshall Dillon maintaining law and order in Dodge City. Do you remember the name of the saloon that Miss Kitty operated?

Each episode of this series began with Johnny Weissmuller diving off a high cliff.

Child star Jackie Cooper played the lead in this sitcom where advice was often given by a basset hound.

Remember these expressions?

"Agitate the Gravel"
"Back Seat Bingo"
"Cooties"
"Cut the Gas"

Greetings!

Hello fellow GSAs from Judi!

I am alive and well and living at The Big E these days. I have seen many of your there working hard to staff the NH Tourism Booth (THANK YOU SO MUCH)! I am writing to you today because I've heard that some of you have not yet put our

on your calendar yet!

Did you know there is only:

Here are some reasons why you should attend:
  • BETTER SERVICES: We need the money! Yes, I know we don't usually ask you for cash. And yes, I know, this is the first time in 16 years we've held a fund raiser... but as you may have noticed our services, our tours, our communications, and our special event opportunities have greatly increased giving you more opportunity to "pitch in and make a difference"

  • OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: This is going to be the first time a NHGSA event is open to the PUBLIC. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, associates, workmates, everyone to join us! We hope to have 150 people in attendance to meet our goal to raise $3,000 and to introduce the public to our great organization and it's fabulous members -- YOU!

  • ATTEND BY DONATING: We are asking for a $20 "donation" to attend! The Highlander Inn will be donating the location, the dessert and coffee... DJ Venture will be donating their 1950 music.... Queen Mom is donating her time & the felt to make some of our decoration!

  • 1950's DISHED TO SHARE: There will be a cash bar to purchase your favorite beverages and we are hoping your will bring your favorite 1950's dish to share! [I am bringing one of my favorite meals QM used to make us: America Chop Suey] What are you bringing? Send Kelly what you think you'll bringing and she'll post a list for you to see! Kelly will also be posting a list of who's coming so sign up early!

  • YOU COULD WIN CASH! Bring your $$ to buy tickets. We will be holding contests, events, and commemorative photos throughout the night and you will be able to win CASH (in a 50/50 style of participation)

  • COSTUMES OR NOT: Be as elaborate or as simple as you choose your 1950's costume for the evening! There will be a CASH prize for that too!

  • WIN 5 FREE RAFFLE TICKETS: The first 25 people to donate $20 via our online donation will get 5 free raffle tickets to kick off the event.... so sign up early!

  • IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND: Consider donating anyway, thank you for your consideration!

  • 501(c)(3) CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION: Yup... we are a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization. Your donations are tax deducible... so your donation of any amount however LARGE or small is welcome!

  • OUR GSA MEMBERS: We hope you, our members, will lead the way in making sure our community knows how important NHGSA is to our state, our communities, and our guests.... please encourage everyone to donate so we can reach/exceed our goal! THANK YOU!

Virtual Tour - Jackson's Pumpkin People

2011 marks the 24th year these magical, mystical, intriguing Pumpkin People have been showing up in the Jackson Area of New Hampshire. These quirky Pumpkin People were asked to come to our quintessential New England Villages to entertain both our visitors and locals alike. Pumpkin People far exceeded our expectations and we are proud to say you can expect the "24th" sightings of "Return of the Pumpkin People" to happen on October 1st through October 20th of 2011.
