Thanks to Karen Platt in England for this review.
"I was very excited to receive my Zentangle Kit. I am a born doodler,
I doodle whilst I am thinking, I doodle when talking on the phone, I
think I even dream of doodling. Doodling is an aimless sort of task, it
frees the mind. Zentangle aims to create calm and it's a bit like
doodling with a purpose.
"In the kit, you receive an instruction booklet
and a DVD showing you how to Zentangle. Also included are 34 small
pieces of heavyweight paper on which to Zentangle. It also comes
equipped with two pencils, two drawing pens, a pencil sharpener and a
dice. There are ideas and strings to start you off and if you are like
me, you'll soon be off with your own ideas and ways of making those
small squares into works of art. The reverse of these die-cut shapes
have a couple of lines printed on them so you can give or send them to
friends or family.
"What I like about Zentangle is that you can master it in a matter of
minutes, and yet spend a life time creating different works of art.
Practically anyone can do it.
"The other thing about it is that it is so
beautifully presented, everything is top quality from the box it comes
in, to the pieces of paper on which you doodle. The down side is, it is
a bit pricey and UK readers beware, I had to pay 12 GBP customs on top
of that. I also guess the cynics would say you could do this on any
scrap of paper, but treat yourself to a little luxury - you know you are
worth it.
"Now I have started, I can't stop, I don't go a day without my
Zentangle. It's handy to carry around, take a couple of cards to work
for your break or lunch hour. A perfect gift anytime of the year. You
can buy kits, frames, pre-cut tiles and more from the Zentangle website
above.
