Committee Work
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Board's 5-member Strategic Planning group has been finalized, with the addition of Marston Black and Zach Stevenson.  This group will begin with a conference call.  That group call will help set the agenda for a full-day retreat, occuring on September 16th.  This retreat will be held off-site and is limited to the appointed members of the group.
The Development committee will await the outcome of the Strategic Planning meeting, before meeting again.
Marston and a group of 10 volunteers met on Tuesday, September 4th for the 2007 inaugural Haunted Ship committee.  A number of topics were discussed, including a trip to Bristol and the main event at the Landing.
The Training committee (Nick Horvath, John Laurino, Ed Stemmler, Francisco Franqui) will be meeting on Saturday, September 8th and again the week of Sept 17th to set schedules for Fall and Spring classes.  The schedules should be available on the web and in print by September 29th's Recruitment event.
The Marine committee, with Marcus Brandt taking the lead, has been working on draft plans for the retopping and other Gazela projects.  Once Marcus finishes the draft, his document will be forwarded to other members of the committee (John Brady, Pat Flynn, Brian McNamara, Marcus, Nick Horvath, Ed Stemmler) for comment and revisions.  This document will help form the basis for Gazela's preservation plans over the next 5-10 years.
A Documentation committee has been working on operational manuals for Gazela's engine room and systems.
Ralph Onesti from Jupiter has been working on a Jupiter Crew manual.
