April 2012 | |

Greetings (Contact First Name),
Spring has arrived and we have sprung into action! On March 24th, we joined my Meetup Group, the Atlanta African American Adventurers for an overnight adventure at the Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, Tennessee. See the photos and video below. It was unlike anything, all but one person of the 33 that attended, had ever done before. We loved it! However, should you ask if we will do it again...not so sure.
April is a great month to get outside! As you know we had a very mild winter and the season of spring is to be enjoyed as we take time to stop and smell the early blossoms. Our April hike is the day before Easter this year, so I chose a hike that is in the Metro Atlanta area, East Palisades. I chose this location, as it should result in a fairly short day hike since we do not have the ride to the North Georgia Mountains. The trail is located in northwestern Fulton County. The East Palisades loop is surrounded by some of the Georgia's wealthiest homes. It is a unique hike in a densely forested park that rises to 400 feet above the Chattahoochee River. It offers some of the most scenic views of the river south of Lake Lanier. So, as you plan to go to observe Easter the following day, why not join us and get a real feel for some of God's great creations...become one with nature as we hike this scenic trail. See the video below for a glimpse of the trail.
Also, April 22nd, is Earth Day. Check this out...more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day 2012 and help Mobilize the Earth™. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection. Get information about the Earth Day Festival in East Atlanta. There is so much going on. I suggest first, you decide what you are going to do in your own home to celebrate, particularly as it relates to conservation, and then you can Google Earth Day 2012 to find out what is going on in your area. There are some really exciting things in the making...I will share them with you as they get closer to fruition. In the meantime, as we continue to make positive things happen and try our best to keep you up to date, share them with your family, friends and colleagues; Hartfield's Hikers, OPALs, Lifestyle Management, LLC, Hartfield's Healthy Haven, Atlanta African American Adventurers and my Lifestyle Blog.
Don't forget, in between newsletters you can always go to the Lifestyle Management calendar to find out where the upcoming hike will be and register. Know that I really appreciate your steadfast support. Enjoy the newsletter...

We will stop and have lunch on the trail, so pack a healthy, light lunch. Don't forget theLeave No Trace principles... what you carry in, you carry out, with the exception of taking your picturesque memories of the trail and of course, any photos you may take.

As always, wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and of course comfortable layered, clothing. Bring a friendly smile, great attitude, open mind, water, snacks and lunch! Please eat a healthy breakfast to help sustain your energy.
Also, as we continue to bring you memorable and enjoyable hiking experiences this year, we have finally had to start charging for our hikes to help us defray the expenses we incur. Get Membership info here... Please join Hartfield's Hikers, and let us know what we can do to better serve you as we move forward. We appreciate you and want to continue to provide you with a safe, fun, memorable and enjoyable hiking experience. RSVP for the hike here...
It is important that you RSVP for the Hike because we have had such overwhelming success on our hikes, we are now limiting participation to 20 hikers.

Join me and others who are enjoying a life full of fun and adventure! You must have optimal health to get the greatest benefits. Be honest with yourself, how healthy are you...really!
Even if you eat fairly healthy meals, because of the pesticides, chemicals, and not to mention the GMO's in the food, you need whole food supplementation!
