Greetings!

The Cheatham Hill hike on July 3rd was great!  The weather was perfect, the trail was gorgeous and the people were delightful. We welcomed new hikers and young people!  New friendships are budding and ideas for growth were plentiful.

Cheatham Hill Group - July 2010

As a result of expressed desires to expand and (re)connect, we are inviting you to join the Hiker's Society blog created by our own L.A. There you can create your own page, share your experiences, your photos, and mutually connect with whomever you choose.  Thanks L.A., great job!

Take note, the expansion is already in the works...we are collaborating with other groups to broaden the scope of our activities. Check out the upcoming events below and plan to join the fun.

I must also share with you that although the trail was dry for our group hike, when Paulette and I scouted the trail the day before, we were in the rain for the entire hike...from down-pour to light rain.  But, thanks to the great waterproof jackets we got from our partner, REI, we were more than prepared and best of all, as dry as could be expected.  The jackets not only kept us dry, they were breathable and I thought we looked pretty cute...the jackets are quite fashionable. Mine is a nice yellow (lemonata) and Paulette's jacket is aqua.  Not to overlook the REI quick drying clothing we had on. Check them out for all of your hiking gear!
Happy, Healthy Hiking...
Carolyn
