Parents, students, staff and their families are all invited to join us on Purim evening (Monday, March 9th). We are going to host a festive megilla reading in school. We will have two megilla reading services:
- one by men for men & women and
- one by women for women.
Maariv 7:20 pm
followed by megillah reading
Students will daven mincha in school earlier in the day. A mincha minyan is available at Young Israel of North Riverdale.
Following the megilla reading we will have a dinner to break the fast. Please RSVP to Shawn at tarzis@sarhighschool.org if you will be joining us. Be sure to provide us with the number of adults and children.
After dinner students and staff will continue to celebrate together with music, dancing, a free Chinese Auction and Purim shpiels performed by students and staff.
If there is interest we will arrange for students to have busing to central locations in NJ, Westchester & Stamford. To reserve a space please email Dahlia at goldbd@sarhighschool.org with name and location.
During the evening we will be collecting money to distribute as Matanot L'evyonim for the needy in the Bronx and Israel.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and come in costume.
