WATER OR COKE?

WATER 1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population) 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. 3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. 4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U- Washington study. 5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. 6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. 7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. 8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis. 2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials. 3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

Advances in Chiropractic Care
___________________________________________________________________

Chiropractic care is poised to make a big splash in the
medical realm. Wellness care by doctors of chiropractic may reduce health care costs, improve health behaviors and enhance patient perceived quality of life.  However, what many researchers have focused on is the fact that chiropractic adjustments affect the chemistry of biological processes on a cellular level.
In a Landmark Study Researchers found that chiropractic care could affect the basic physiological processes that influence oxidative stress and DNA repair.  Comparing serum thiol (primary antioxidant; measure of human health status) levels in nearly 50 patients receiving short- or long-term chiropractic care with 30 patients who were treated with non-chiropractic methods, researchers found:
Independent of age, sex or taking nutritional supplements, long-term chiropractic care of two or more years re-established a normal physiological state in patients.
Patients receiving chiropractic care showed higher mean serum thiol levels, compared to patients with active disease, and produced some values that were higher than normal wellness values.
Moreover, chiropractors apply spinal adjustments to correct disturbances of nerve function; thus, chiropractic care appears to improve a patient's ability to adapt to stress.

SPINAL MANIPULATION MAY BENEFIT ASTHMA PATIENTS

Des Moines, Iowa - Patients afflicted with asthma may benefit from spinal manipulation in terms of symptoms, immunological capacity, and endocrine effects. The investigative team, headed by Ray Hayeck, Ph.D, has been conducting a trail at 16 treatment centers in Australia involving 420 patients with an average age of 46. Dr. Hayeck reported that only the patient group that underwent spinal manipulation displayed significant improvement in asthma symptoms and depression and anxiety scores. In addition, patients actually undergoing spinal manipulation displayed dramatic increases in IgA and decreases of cortisol through the post-treatment period, suggesting that there were physiological consequences to their manipulation treatments, reflecting increased immunological capacities which would be expected to ward off subsequent asthmatic attacks.
Move Your Body
A lot of press has been given to the practice of yoga over the last several years.  One of the reasons for this is that yoga done correctly benefits the  physical, mental and spiritual being all at the same time.  What type of yoga is right for you depends on many things.  The most important of these is finding the combination of the right type of yoga and yoga teacher.  Yoga is not about pushing your body to its limits but instead it is about allowing you and your body to explore its possibilities on every level.  There is no "correct" or "better" type of yoga.  Below you will find a simplified definition of the main types of yoga; if you have any questions regarding yoga and your particular needs please email us with your questions and we will do our best to answer them for you.

What is yoga?
Yoga means union.  It is a tradition and science with its roots in ancient India.  Throughout history it has been split into various "schools" focusing on different
aspects of yoga.

Hatha
Most people think of yoga as a set of different physical postures.  Hatha yoga is the name for the physical yoga of postures and this is the most popular branch of yoga in the
US.  In hatha yoga, asanas (physical postures). Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Meditation are used in order to bring the body to perfect health.  The practice of Hatha yoga will result in the union of the body and the soul.

Kundalini yoga uses movement, sound current, breath and meditation to relax and heal your mind and body, allowing the spirit to flow freely.  Kundalini yoga brings a
Greater feeling of well-being and happiness by stimulating the nervous and immune systems, while improving strength and flexibility.

Jnana yoga is the yoga of knowledge.  This type of yoga stresses the use of the mind to transcend the mind.  It works with that part of human mind that strives to know and understand.  This type of yoga trains discrimination.

*NOTE: A minimum of 30 minutes of regular exercise 3-4 times a week is necessary to improve your overall health.
Exercise improves and maintains your body's homeostasis by improving your immune system function, cardiovascular function, metabolic (hormones and neurotransmitters) function and mental capabilities.
