  • SPINAL MANIPULATION MAY BENEFIT ASTHMA PATIENTS
  • Des Moines, Iowa – Patients afflicted with asthma may benefit from spinal manipulation in terms of symptoms, immunological capacity, and endocrine effects. The investigative team, headed by Ray Hayeck, Ph.D, has been conducting a trail at 16 treatment centers in Australia involving 420 patients with an average age of 46. Dr. Hayeck reported that only the patient group that underwent spinal manipulation displayed significant improvement in asthma symptoms and depression and anxiety scores. In addition, patients actually undergoing spinal manipulation displayed dramatic increases in IgA and decreases of cortisol through the post-treatment period, suggesting that there were physiological consequences to their manipulation treatments, reflecting increased immunological capacities which would be expected to ward off subsequent asthmatic attacks.

  • WATER OR COKE?
  • WATER 1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population) 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. 3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. 4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U- Washington study. 5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. 6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. 7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. 8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

  • COKE 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
  • For Your Info 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis. 2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials. 3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
  • Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

  • PROFIT IN DRUGGING OUR CHILDREN
  • “Chalk up another profitable victory for those promoting the legal drugging of America’s children – also know as the good folks of the pharmaceutical industry. Earlier this month, a federal judge struck down a Food and Drug Administration regulation that required drug makers to test medicines, routinely given to children…. This is no small matter, given the skyrocketing number of children being prescribed helpings of powerful mood-altering drugs. For instance, 1.5 million kids are currently taking Prozac and its equivalents, even though the FDA hasn’t approved these drugs for use by anyone under 18.” Boston Sunday Globe editorial by Arianna Huffington

  • ANTIBIOTICS AND EAR INFECTIONS
  • The child who has been exposed to prolonged levels of antibiotic therapy is placed at risk with respect to their immune status. The child’s immunity becomes impaired for the following reasons: • alteration of intestinal mucosa • usurps the body’s ability to fight for itself • potentially alters intestinal antibody markers • side effects produce diarrhea altering electrolyte balance • others considerations. So while antibiotics play a role in controlling the most severe ear infections, they may prove to have a significant negative side which is contributing to illness in the children. It is important therefore to see if there are any alternatives which can be employed to help the child’s ear infections without the use of antibiotic therapy. Dr. Michael Schmidt has written two books which address the issue of ear infections and one which addresses the use of antibiotics: Healing Childhood Ear Infections and Beyond Antibiotics. These books should be essential reading for all parents who have young children. Dr. Schmidt clearly and concisely outlines the alternatives for treating ear infections, and the importance of monitoring the necessity for antibiotics! Reprinted from an article by Joan Fallon D.C.
