Celebrate Your Voice by Voting
2010 Primary Election
While you may be wishing the onslaught of political commercials would go away soon, we urge you to get out and vote next Tuesday, June 8.  There are many races in our area that are very important to our industry.
A few things to remember:
  • You can only vote in one party's primary in SC.
  • If there is a run-off, you can still only vote if you voted in that party's primary.
  • Expect a run-off in the republican primaries for Governor and 1st Congressional district.
  • Charleston County has 2 different Congressional districts: 1st and 6th districts.
  • CAHA does not endorse candidates.
If you have questions, please check the SC Election Commission's web page or just email us directly.

Looking for folks to follow:
We maintain two lists that we associate with the mission of our Association.  One is CHS-tourism and focuses on local companies in our industry as well as other "tweeters" we find interesting like @DiscoverIreland or @Southern_Living.  We also maintain another list called SCPolicy that is geared to our state legislators, congressmen and news outlets that cover associated stories.  You can follow the entire list or go through and select individual accounts.

If you have more questions about Twitter, let us know and we'll be happy to assist you!

JUNE 2010
A Letter to CAHA members
Dear CAHA Members,

I am sad to announce to you my resignation as your president.  With the recent sale of the Holiday Inn Historic District hotel to the Noble Investment Group, I am left without a hotel in the Charleston area.  In light of that, I was left with no choice but to step down as your president and allow the board to move forward.  I know that our staff and the entire CAHA board will continue to lead this organization to new heights.  I have had a wonderful career in the Charleston hospitality industry and it is painful to leave an organization and more-so a city that I love so very much.   The relationships I have made over the past 15 years are ones that I will carry with me for a lifetime.  I thank you all for the opportunity to serve as your board president and I wish you all the best in the coming years.

My Very Best,
K Pickhardt Linder
