New Year - New Look
Happy New Year to you!  Over the past three weeks, it was brought to our attention by our CPA firm and our legal counsel that the Association had not properly filed articles of incorporation when it was originally formed.  Our board and staff were advised to act quickly to clear the matter by actually establishing a new association with a new name.  It was also decided to choose a new name that better reflects the diversity of our membership base.  The Executive Committee presented in the form of a motion the name of Charleston Area Hospitality Association, which was approved by the board of directors.

I want to personally assure you that our mission has not been altered in any way.  The mission statement is still the same as before, as it will continue to be our goal to provide networking opportunities while offering a voice to the industry in public policy and education initiatives.  We will continue to provide annual scholarships to students enrolled in hospitality programs at the College of Charleston and the Culinary Institute of Charleston.  We will also continue our regular meetings and quarterly socials held in conjunction with the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank Tripp Hays for his service and leadership in 2009!  He has been an invaluable leader and assisted our industry in countless ways.  I look forward to seeing each of you at our meeting on January 20.  If you need to contact me prior to then, please feel free to email me by clicking here

Sincerely,
K Pickhardt Linder
Kellie Pickhardt Linder
