Jump rings are best known for their work in attaching a pendant to a necklace or bracelet and for creating beautiful chainmail jewelry, of course. By themselves, you might not think they are very interesting... but add a little color to a copper jump ring and you've got something to talk about!

Copper sheet metal is great because there is so much you can do with it AND it is inexpensive. We use it to practice our stamping and to saw our own metal shapes. Because it's so malleable, it is often our go-to choice for hammered textured projects as well.
Copper is a soft metal, so you can use your shears to cut whatever shape you desire. And copper responds well to oxidation so you can really bring out the pattern. Just look at these cool earrings Mel McCabe made in only 10 minutes. I KNOW, RIGHT? You could also use our Metal Patinas on the patterned sheet, buff out the high points and have the color fill in the gaps.
