Admittedly I had a chance to change the sunset above to a stand of snow covered trees..but, well, I didn't feel like it. Yes, it's odd we're having the winter we're having, and yes I'll admit that Beth, the boys and I all really LIKE snow, but for some reason THIS winter the lack of "winter" has not yet hit home. So we're going with it! Spring here we come!
We've got a bunch of news to share with you. While things "should be quiet", we're quite busy at the brewery - cranking out new beers right and left, working on winter projects, and growing again! We are hiring for 7 positions this spring...3 full time,,,3 summer and 1 part time year round. All Good Stuff! So read on...

BITTER END IMPERIAL IPA - NEW BEER RELEASE

On February 6th, 2012, Cape Cod Beer will release its newest Specialty Beer, Bitter End Imperial IPA, named for the nautical term "bitter end" which refers to the innermost end of the anchor rope, which was traditionally secured to a set of bitts or large pillars of oak, bolted and fixed upright to the deck. The beer's name is also a double entendre given the fact that Imperial IPAs are some of the hoppiest beers made.
Bitter End Imperial IPA was brewed in the tradition of the great Imperial IPAs of the West Coast, packing massive amounts of hop flavor and aroma into a medium-bodied, unfiltered brew. Using a blend of five different malts (Pale, Cara Pils, Vienna, Wheat & Munich) and four different hop varieties (Chinook. Columbus, Zythos, & Cascade), the Cape Cod Beer brewers have crafted a very drinkable and unique beer. At 8.3% ABV and 90 IBUs, it also packs a bit of a punch! click for more details

Care to Grow Hops at Home? Buy Rhizomes by 2/29

Once again we are going to buy HOP RHIZOMES, and thought we would open it up to the local community in case anyone else wanted to order some.
They are $5 per Rhizome, prepaid, and we need your order in and paid for by February 29th. We will place our order on March 1 st. The Hops will arrive towards the end of March/Early April and can be planted around that same time frame. We will NOT be shipping rhizomes.
Here is the form. Ignore the fact that it says 2011 ..We changed everything but the date. Please try to bring it with you when you come to order. Otherwise we will have copies here at the brewery.

MY BALANCING ACT IN CAPE COD LIFE
I was honored to be asked to represent the town of Barnstable as the person profiled in the Barnstable section of the Cape Cod Life Annual Guide. If you get the magazine, or find it laying around, they've written a really nice article about us, our vision, and what being a Cape Cod Business means to us. Kudos to Jeff Harder who wrote the profile and Dan Cutrona who captured a great shot of me balanced on a couple kegs while holding both a growler and a pint! Yikes!

TED THE TELEPHONE GUY... and what to expect if you call us.
We've moved into the 21st century..and graduated from a 4 pack of portable phones we bought at BJs in 2006! They served us well but Ted the Telephone Guy has brought us a cool new PHONE SYSTEM! Pretty amazing.. only took us 8 years!
Why am I telling you this? Because we care very much about customer service. But we also care about getting work done and getting the right calls to the right people in our growing small business, so we have gone the route of the auto attendent and by next week will have an additional incoming line too (hopefully less "direct to voice mail" experience)!
But you can alwasy hit ZERO to get a real voice..if one is available. Let us know if it doesn't work for you, otherwise Dial 1 for Sales..2 for Tour Times...3 for directions...
