Two Special Events This Weekend |
Greetings!
While we are not holding our breath on it, it appears that the weather might actually be considering a change for the better. We can only hope!
We have two GREAT events this weekend that promise to be a lot of fun - and good causes too! Beth & I will be attending both these events, pouring Cape Cod Beer. We hope to see you there!
Cheers to Sunny Weather!

Mashpee Night of 100 Wines
(and microbrews)
This is an annual event held under a tent at South Cape Village in Mashpee. In its 9th year, they have added microbrews to the mix (because some of us prefer beer to wine right?). Cape Cod Beer will be there sampling our brews.
The event includes food, wine, micro-brews, live music,
a silent auction, and a chance to win a trip to Italy!

Best Night of the Year
The Cape & Islands United Way does GREAT things. They wholeheartedly support the community which we call home and they do it in such a great way! Not only do they raise and distribute funds to very worthy causes, but they also mobilize people within our community to help during their "Days of Caring" events. We enjoy supporting their causes because of what they do - and how they do it.
Did you know...
- They are the single largest non-governmental funder of human service programs on the Cape and the Islands.
- They provide over $ 1,000,000 of local program support annually.
- 99.5% of all dollars contributed to the Cape and Islands United Way stays here.
- Three community high impact areas of focus:
1. Nurturing and Protecting Children and Youth 2. Supporting and Sustaining Families 3. Support for Aging and Vulnerable Populations
- They are a locally chartered, professionally managed, independently governed organization by an all-volunteer board of local leaders.
- Funding decisions are approved by the Board of Directors, upon the recommendations of an all-volunteer Community Investment Committee.
- The Cape and Islands United Way has over 150 volunteers engaged in fund-raising, assessing long and short-term community needs and operational support.
- The Cape and Islands United Way seeks to be more than money to the community... building partnerships, forging consensus, and leveraging resources to a make a measurable difference.
Best Night of the Year is the Cape & Islands United Way's biggest fundraising event of the year. It is a wonderful event with food & wine from restaurants across the Cape, and of course Cape Cod Beer. There is music and silent and live auctions as well. It's one of those events that makes you feel GOOD - about yourself & about the organization. And to top it all off...the event culminates with a SPECTACULAR fireworks display.
Details: 6:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Willowbend Country Club, Mashpee. $150 per person For details, please call 508.775.4746 or to buy tickets on line click here |
