Greetings!
Cape Cod Beer and the British Beer Company's Hyannis location are teaming up for a unique event scheduled for Thursday February 28th from 7-9 pm. The "Beer Stroll" as it has been dubbed, pairs 4 delicious dishes with 4 distinct beer styles produced by Cape Cod Beer.
Cape Cod Red, Cape Cod I.P.A., Cape Cod Porter, and our English Old Ale called "Old Man Winter" will be paired with succulent BBC fare. The event will have a casual format to allow patrons to move from station to station sampling both beer and food.
Brewers and staff from Cape Cod Beer will be on hand to answer questions and explain the beautiful relationship of pairing beer with food. The cost of attending is $15.
The Beer Stroll will have limited tickets available.
Please call The British Beer Company in Hyannis at
508 771 1776 for reservations.
The menu is as follows:
|
Old Man Winter paired with Assorted Cheeses and Fresh Fruits
The evening opens with a reception style cheese and fresh fruit spread. Cheese and beer grew up together on the farm, and the grain used to produce beer is the same as that which is fed to milk-animals to produce cheese, making them great partners! More importantly, the flavors of beer and cheese - earthy, yeasty, musty, fruity, rich, toasty, floral - jibe in a way that many feel those of wine and cheese cannot. Behold the power of cheese! |
Cape Cod I.P.A. paired with
Citrus Marinated Shrimp Puffs
The bold hoppy flavor of Cape Cod IPA needs a bold partner - and will find one in the BBC's jumbo shrimp marinated in a citrus vinaigrette then wrapped in a light puff pastry and baked. The perfect combo of buttery flaky goodness offset with a spicy, citrusy vinaigrette. Yum! |
Cape Cod Red paired with
Mini Cape Cod Ruebens
Red Right Return...Pairing Cape Cod Red with fish seems like a natural fit! The Mini Cape Cod Reuben consists of fresh filets of cod battered and deep fried then topped with Cole slaw, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese, served on mini Kaiser rolls. A perfect balance of crisp, crunchy, sweet and sour to pair with a perfectly balanced Amber Ale. |
Cape Cod Porter paired with
Porter Fudge Brownies
Porter and Chocolate are perfect partners - and who doesn't love a good fudge brownie! Add in a raspberry porter reduction and you've got heaven on earth! |
