Welcome to this month's issue! The Technology Advisor provides technology advice, strategy, tips and trends to help you manage and grow your business!

"Patch Tuesday" Security Updates

Microsoft released four security bulletins as part of its November Patch Tuesday last week.  One was marked "critical", two were "important" and one was "moderate".  What was unusual this month was that only one of the patches was for an older operating system (XP), and the majority of patches were for newer operating systems.  Of note, Microsoft didn't have a patch ready yet for the zero-day bug in the TrueType font related to the Doqu Trojan, which is still being worked.  For more details, check out the article in eweek.com.

Adobe also released a patch last week for the Shockwave Player addressing critical vulnerabilities, and Apple annouced JAVA updates addressing 17 vulnerabilities.  Security updates don't just pertain to Microsoft PC products!  Critical patches MUST be installed or all your system will be vulnerable.
