Not Cool! Privacy Alert - Verizon Wireless is now monitoring your mobile web habits.
Verizon is making a significant change to its privacy policy for mobile users this week. By default, the company will now use a bunch of your information for "certain business and marketing reports" and for "making mobile ads you see more relevant."
This information includes the URLs of websites you visit over Verizon's network and also your device's location data. Some of those details may be shared with outside companies as well. Verizon says none of it will personally identify you, but do you really want them tracking this? By default, you're opted into this service, and you can opt-out on line (I just did!). For detailed instructions, visit the ComputerWorld Blog Post.

For more details, visit All about Microsoft on ZDNet.
For October's "Patch Tuesday", two patches were rated "critical" and six were rated "Important". We advise clients to install all "critical" patches when they are available. Kaspersky Lab senior security researcher Kurt Baumgertner said that reliable exploitation will lead to remote code execution across a wide variety of Windows versions because Internet Explorer (and Silverlight) are heavily used software clients. In general, remote code execution is the highest level of threat so always look out for this.
