First Obama White House shakeup

This paragraph appeared in the June 1 issue of Inside Washington's Headlines:

"All the other signs are there, too, ending with the increasing willingness of Obama loyalists to talk about what is going wrong at the White House. At first, those loyalists tip-toe. Eventually, they run so they won't be the last to spill their leaked story to a reporter. That spillage usually comes in the third year of a presidency. It started in the fourth month with Obama's people."

Several White House officials contacted Radnor Reports to complain that the information about possible leaks was untrue. No, it was not. Some of the complainers, in fact, are among the leakers. In politics, the guilty often protest the loudest.

Now we learn that Jackie Norris, chief of staff to First Lady Michelle Obama, has been replaced by Susan Sher, who worked with Obama at the University of Chicago. Sher has been advising the White House on health care reform.

Norris has been demoted to senior adviser to the Corporation for National and Community Service. In a prepared statement she said she is "looking forward to becoming an integral part of this Administration's efforts to advance the cause of national and community service."

Usually, one sacrificial lamb quiets the other lambs for a time.
