The Mid South Region has three Regional Account Executives. Each of our 62 producers is assigned to either Jeff Lamb, Jeff Fields or Gregg Cornille. Why do you care? The RAEs are charged with getting to know your office inside and out. They are responsible for your production across all product lines that Markel has to offer. They are a single point of contact available to you 24 hours a day. They are your sounding board, your advocate and your complaint department (like that ever happens). In essence, they will make your wildest dreams come true. Not really, but they do have every tool available to enable you to write more profitable business with Markel. The Mid South Region is getting bigger by getting smaller. By reducing our producer base we have strengthened our existing relationships. Get to know your RAE. Not sure who that is? Two New Promotions in the Mid South
 Congratulations to Erica Lathrop and Westen Taliaferro on their recent promotions! Erica was promoted to Underwriter for the Excess & Umbrella team. Westen was promoted to Underwriter Technician for the Binding team.
Erica, originally from Blair, Nebraska, attended The University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in Marketing. Erica came to Markel after working as an Advertising Brand Manager at The Richards Group. In her spare time, she enjoys socializing with her friends and taking her dog to the dog park.
One thing you wouldn't know about Erica: Despite her roots in Nebraska, she's no Husker's fan! Rock Chalk Jayhawk, baby!
Westen, a DFW native, moved to Witchita Falls to attend Midwestern State University. Before coming to Markel, Westen was acting Hall Director at Midwestern State. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies and playing disc golf.
One thing you wouldn't know about Westen: He doesn't have a uvula (the little thing that hangs at the back of your throat)!

Heidi Peterson Celebrates Her 25th Anniversary with Markel!
 Congratulations to Heidi Peterson on her recent 25th anniversary with Markel! Heidi first joined Markel at our former Shand location in Deerfield, IL in 1978. She left for a short time, but returned to become a great contributor to Markel's success for 25 years. Heidi was an integral part of our preparation and launch of the One Markel business model. She was the leading force in the consolidation of underwriting support teams from four unique business units. To say this task was monumental would be an understatement. Over the past three years, we have refined and realigned the structure as needed, and Heidi has consistently provided strong leadership through the process. Heidi has also made significant progress in figuring out ways to improve our process efficiency. It's no secret that she spends most of her time each day thinking of ways to improve processes and operations at Markel. Thank you, Heidi, for all of your dedication and hard work over the past 25 years! You are a true example of living the Markel Style!
