Welcome aboard Kecia!
Introducing FirstLine Therapy

We are introducing into our practice FirstLine Therapy and Karen Britten

our certified lifestyle educator.  We see many people on a daily basis who are interested in balancing a healthy lifestyle.  Karen is on our team to coach you through some of those changes.  Optimal health is our goal. "It has been such a privilege to work with people to gain optimal health.  We see benefits in such a short time.  The side effects of this lifestyle change is a better life

The lifestyle change comes from incorporating a Mediterranean diet with a low glycemic index. Adding supplements to boost your overall health and adding exercise to give us strength and energy.

It doesn't matter if you are young or old, a man or a woman, in great shape, or have never exercised before-this program can help you increase your energy, improve your shape, reduce your health risks, and maximize your overall well-being. So let's get started!

  • Firstline Therapy focuses on Body Composition.  The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommends lifestyle changes as the most important and cost-effective way to lower cholesterol.
  • 91% of type 2 diabetes cases could be prevented by the adoption of healthy habits and lifestyle choices.
  • Lifestyle changes are now recommended as the "FirstLine Therapy" for the major chronic diseases in our society:
  • Heart Disease
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Life Style choices are also the key to many symptoms that are not classified as diseases
  • Fatigue
  • Stress-related symptoms
  • Hormone Imbalance
  • And many more

Many of these health problems can be prevented or even treated by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

To measure Body Composition, we use a bioimpedance device to aid in the clinical assessment of fluid status and body composition.  This helps us to measure body fat and fat free mass as well.  We are, also, able to measure the integrity of the cells by seeing how much water you are holding inside and outside the cell. The health of your cells are then measured by what is called your phase angle. You would be surprised how these numbers can change when you make lifestyle changes.  We also offer medical food that will give you a jump start in the right direction.

Call today and schedule a free consultation with Karen to see if this program will benefit you.  We look forward to hearing from you.

 Tips From Terry

  • With flu season upon us, it is important for you to take an active role in protecting yourself.  Contact your health care practitioner for your flu shot today.
  • Drink plenty of water.  Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day,  unless you have been told otherwise by your physician.
  • Eat nutritiously getting plenty of veggies and fruits in your diet daily.  Even some fast food restaurants are more aware of good balanced meals.  Some have salads with fruit and grilled chicken, ect.
  • Take time to wash your hands many times during this season.  Use throw away towels if possible to eliminate the spreading of germs
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.  The eyes, nose, and mouth are entry ports for flu viruses.  Germs enter easily through these paths
  • Dress properly.  Our temperature sensory receptors are concentrated on the hands, feet,  head, and neck.  So keep them warm.
  • Get 7-8 hours of rest each night.  Make sure your bedroom is a restful place to sleep.
  • Sinus irrigation.  This is a must when you are dealing with more mucus than normal. This can help fight off sinus infections or it can certainly shorten your time of illness.
  •  Make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin with minerals that is backed up by research.  Remember to build a healthy cell we need protein, vitamins and minerals.  See Terry today for recommendations on supplementations
