Bainbridge Island at work... together!                                                            September 5, 2012

 Greetings!

Just over a year ago, on September 1, 2011, the first Xpats started their memberships as coworkers on Bainbridge Island. Many are still members today. Have you seen the video about the single dancer who starts a whole crowd dancing? It's not easy to be one of the first and have faith in a new venture. But OfficeXpats would not be here today if not for Leif Utne, Joe and Tammy Deets, Dave Kragen, Martha Monkman, Jeff Leinaweaver, Ann Whitmore, Alex Sanso, Peter Murchie/Stephanie Farquhar and many others who joined our dance in the months since.

Friday September 28, celebrate with us and The Edge!

We are excited to announce that The Edge Improv will be performing at the YEAR ONE DONE anniversary party!

The party starts at 6:30 with drinks, skewers, salads, and a showcase of "Local Economy and Innovation." At 7:30 pm we listen to a few stories about coworking and the sharing economy. Jill Bamburg, co-founder of Bainbridge Graduate Institute, will speak briefly on the role that community plays in local living economies. At 8:00 pm the Edge actors improvise their way through awkward scenarios suggested by the audience. Then around 8:45 we eat cake, play games, and make music and dance. Or something else happens. We'll hope for the best.

The event is free, but you WILL have fun buying raffle tickets for great prizes. Just wait and see.

Who We Are

Last chance to get the Passport at $15/month; first chance to use your new day!

In honor of OfficeXpats' Year One DONE we have added a full day of coworking per month to the Passport membership. When you sign in, just let us know if this is your first coworking day of the month and it won't be charged as a pay-as-you-go. You can also reserve one hour of conference room time during that day as part of your Passport membership.

You can still take advantage of the original introductory price of $15/month, but only during September. Starting on October 1, 2012, the Passport membership will be $25/month for new members (current Passport members will stay at $15/month).

Don't forget about FREE After Hours and FREE weeks for full time Residents: Last week we announced two incentives for full time Resident members: when you upgrade or join as a full time "Resident" ($320/mo) during the month of September you also get After Hours for free (normally $75/mo) and a free week for every month prepaid in September, up to 6 months. So, if you prepay for 4 months, you would not pay again for 5 months.

Leadership skills for Entrepreneurs

Charlie King Coaching

Charlie King's session this week explored the underlying commitment and vision we had when we started our businesses, then we investigated what's getting in the way of success now, and what's missing that would get us back in action. We learned some tools to use every day for moving our projects forward, and also how to put our vision into speaking about our business.

Next week, Leigh Calvez explores entrepreneurialism as a fast track to personal growth. We will uncover how fears, limiting beliefs, and unconscious habits keep us locked in to creating more of what we don't want and we will learn to work with fear as a guide and summon the courage to follow your passion and purpose to greater success in your business.
