Greetings!
A busy week... Tuesday @noon is the first advertising workshop, and then stop by the Annual Night Out community party Tuesday evening in the Farmers Market space (we have a booth!). Agate Pass Exchange holds a potluck and marketplace on Wednesday evening, then August 9 is National Coworking Day, so it will be a FREE day at OfficeXpats. Spread the word and bring some friends!
Coworking Turns 7 Years Old; celebrate with FREE COWORKING!
Last year at this time, the OfficeXpats space was under construction, with emerging conference rooms, painting in progress, and lots of furniture assembly. In the midst of this start-up excitement and chaos, we wanted to acknowledge the anniversary of coworking itself, which had recently been determined as August 9, 2005. So we swept up the sawdust, turned on the Wi-Fi, and opened our doors temporarily for a free coworking day, complete with a free lunch barbecue.
Again we celebrate the 'coworking birthday' with a free coworking day! Following tradition, we will take a break for a barbecue lunch, and then because it falls on Thursday, we should have a good crowd for happy hour at 4:30! Read more about our celebration of coworking.

Tuesday is National Night Out 2012
FREE FOOD ALERT: The Bainbridge Island Police Department invites us all to celebrate the 29th annual "National Night Out" on Tuesday August 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00pm in the "town square" (where the farmers market is held). Bring the family and enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs, drinks and ice cream! There will be booths by local merchants (including OfficeXpats!) and non-profit organizations. Help get the word out, and we'll see you there!

Get your ballots postmarked by tomorrow! Note that one of our members, Karen Klein, is running for judge in the Kitsap County Superior Court, Position 7. Jason and Leslie are on the long list of her endorsers. "Karen was one of the most prepared, ethical, passionate yet measured lawyers I encountered during my fifteen years on the Superior Court bench." - Hon. Faith Ireland, Washington State Supreme Court (Ret.) Karen has been a law school instructor at the University of Washington, and has served as a Pro Tem Judge in Kitsap courts.

Agate Pass Exchange potluck returns!
OfficeXpats will be hosting the Agate Pass Exchange, for a Potluck/Marketplace/New Member orientation, this Wednesday, August 8th 5:30-8:30 pm. Interested in becoming a part of a thriving, local trading community? Curious what it is all about? Come and join us to learn about the benefits of a fluid community currency, have a nice summer meal with friends, and trade wares in our community marketplace! Happiness 2012 Conference in Seattle, August 24-25
Join activists and experts in a broad-ranging conversation about an old ideal, the pursuit of happiness! One of those activist, John De Graaf, was here in June to talk about the potential for communities to take (and learn from) the survey. This would be a great next step for our community to participate in the movement!
- Learn about the vital new worldwide movement for happiness
- Find out about how you can use the Happiness Initiative to improve your community
- Learn about the connection between happiness and sustainability
- Hear prominent authors including Eric Weiner, The Geography of Bliss; Vicki Robin, Your Money or Your Life; Cecile Andrews, Less is More; and John de Graaf, Affluenza.
