Bainbridge Island at work... together! April 17, 2012 |
|
Greetings!
How will you honor Earth Day? I'm selfishly celebrating the lack of a commute off the island, and I'm starting to ride my bike to the office when it's not raining. What ideas do you have that could make OfficeXpats a more earth-friendly workplace? Whether you are a member or not, come in on Monday and work for free or just hangout with us at lunch and brainstorm these and other topics. Have a great week! Leslie
 | A FREE coworking day is the perfect excuse to check out the new art exhibit by John Wood! | Monday, April 23rd enjoy FREE coworking!
Are you curious if your focus would improve if you worked away from home? Bring your to-do list and see how much you can check off. Want to experience some accelerated serendipity? Join us for the regular 9:30am Monday check-in to set your goals, or come for the special free lunch event and roundtable brainstorm. Spend the entire day, or just drop in any time to catch the vibe. It will be like having a "productivity party." Learn more, or RSVP on Facebook.
This is a free day for Passport, part-time members, and non-members. We will offer gift cards for members who bring guests. If you want to try out or upgrade to any coworking memberships, sign up on Monday and you will get 50% off the first month (Passport excluded; all memberships are month-to-month, so you are not locked in to anything). See you on Monday! |

Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce Luncheon to focus on the "Future of Employment"
The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon Wednesday, April 18, with a presentation on "The Future of Jobs and Employment" by Leslie Schneider.
"There was a time in history when no one had a job as we think of it today. It was only in the last century that the modern concept of a 'job' as work exchanged for wages and benefits was invented," writes Northwest futurist Glen Hiemstra. In recent decades the social and economic fabric that created this employment system has frayed. Employment has gone global. From a local economy perspective, what infrastructure is required to support this new type of work? From an individual's perspective, how can we adapt to new realities, and what makes us most likely to succeed in the new rules of work? More... |
