Bainbridge Business Connections (BBC) has been serving storefront and home-based business owners on Bainbridge Island for years. Recently, BBC has met in the beautiful tea room of Flowering Around. That space will now become Phoenix Rising - An Aveda Hair Salon, and BBC starts a new chapter at OfficeXpats.
To celebrate the arrival of BBC on Friday mornings, we will host a pancake breakfast. Don't worry, we've done this before--remember pancakes during ThinkWeek? Maybe it will become a new tradition. If so inspired, bring your favorite topping to share.

March 18: A personal story, and an opportunity to help expand a beloved national park
 Is there a U.S. National Park that you just love? I grew up spending most vacations in the back of a VW camper van going to national parks, part icularly in the southwest where my dad felt most at peace. He told one of my brothers that Canyonlands in SE Utah was the "most beautiful place on earth." A few years after he made that comment he disappeared into the desert surrounding the Canyonlands National Park when his car got stuck, and it was only last year when his remains were found about three miles from his car.
I would like to invite you to an evening with Brooke Williams, an evangelist for expanding the National Park boundaries of Canyonlands. I will be sharing the story of my dad--his disappearance and then chance discovery of his remains not even a year ago. Brooke will share the importance of expanding Canyonlands, what's at stake, and how this might actually be accomplished. This is not a fundraiser; Brooke is looking for a few people in the northwest who he can connect with as advocates when he needs to influence our congressional team. March 8: Writers Seeking Community
Writers and authors on Bainbridge Island have been hankering for a space to create a community, and rather than wait for a dedicated facility, Kathleen Alcala is sponsoring a meet-up of writers this Thursday, March 8 from 3-5pm at OfficeXpats. Already a small group has RSVP'd to explore sharing either the craft or the business of making a living as a writer/author. The group is open, so join them if you would like to put in your thoughts on what is needed. |

March 13: Spring Cleaning Your Website
Please join Brian Creamer of SpiderLily Web Design and Larry Tice of Seattle Digital Video as they show you how to engage site visitors and persuade them to answer your "call to action," such as to request an appointment, make a contribution, or purchase your product.
You will see examples of websites that engage the visitor, and ones that drive away potential clients. Included will be several examples of videos that draw visitors into a website. Time is reserved for review of websites submitted by members of the audience. RSVP
