Greetings!

  

OfficeXpats is nearing it's sixth month mark already! Having outgrown the web presence that we put up before even getting an address, we are very excited to launch a new site offering many interactive member features.

New OXP web site 

The new web site is live! We're scrambling; it's far from completed, but the old site has been inadequate for too long. We are very excited to have a stronger presentation of the value of coworking and the community we are building to support it. We look forward to your feedback and will be eager to take advantage of your insights and suggestions within the capabilities of the new template.

A new events calendar, online scheduling of meeting rooms, member forums, and member profiles are just some of the goodies. We also have an exciting new type of membership, called the Passport, that offers a pay-as-you-go option for coworking and meeting rooms. Beyond that, membership levels have been simplified (but not to worry, if your membership type is no longer offered, you can still keep it). Over the next few weeks we will highlight some of the new ideas that came out of conversations with many of you. In the meantime, take a peek, then come back again soon to see even more progress.

A Passport to Come and Go

 

OfficeXpats Passport membershipLet's say you come to our events and you love the vision of OfficeXpats, but you can't commit to working here a certain number of days per month. We know there are quite a few of you who want to show your support and to feel that you belong in this new community. The new Passport membership is for you. 
 
By signing up for a Passport, most workshops, networking events, and interest groups that we sponsor are covered by your membership. You are also entitled to stop by to work or to use a meeting room whenever you need to. Simply sign in, and we will bill your credit card at the end of the month.
 
As a member, you get to log in on the web site, create an online profile, and reserve meeting rooms online. You are even invited to stop by and use the printer without any extra charge when you find yourself in Winslow without that document you really, really need.
 
To join with a Passport membership, click here and fill out the short form. Then, the next time you are nearby, stop in and we will set you up in our system. (Sorry, no online interface yet; the experience was so confusing for some of our users that we decided to spare you and are planning to move to a new online store; that's down the road a bit). Welcome all new Xpats!
 

"Robert's Rules of Order" Webinar Series

 

Come join Debbi Lester and OfficeXpats, as we host a series of webinars on Robert's Rules of Order. Let's learn together how to improve facilitating and participating in meetings. 

 

First session: Chair a Meeting with Confidence

Debbi Lester and OfficeXpats host a webinar focused on learning Robert's Rules. The effectiveness of the chair has the largest impact on the success of any board and it is essential that the chair can manage the meeting properly to maintain order so work gets done. The Lorax is coming to Bainbridge Island

 

We hope you will join us for a private showing of Dr Seuss' "The Lorax" on opening weekend to raise funds to support EcoTrust - Uganda's Trees for Global Benefits initiative.

Your $15 ticket gets you in to our pre-movie reception at OfficeXpats, where we will have refreshments and kid-friendly activities, followed by a private showing of Dr Seuss' "The Lorax" movie in the Bainbridge Cinema. All proceeds from ticket sales will support EcoTrust - Uganda's TREES FOR GLOBAL BENEFITS initiative, assisting small farmers in Uganda to plant and maintain trees, a program that helps to offset global carbon impacts while improving economic opportunity.

OfficeXpats on Bainbridge Island is a workplace solution beyond commuting to the corporate office or working from home.

 

Coworking is about making the personal choice to work alongside other people instead of in isolation. We offer a shared "community" office for remote workers, independent consultants, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

 

OfficeXpats is located upstairs in the Pavilion on Madison, just a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal, through beautiful downtown Winslow. We hope to help you in your quest for 'new ways to work.'
